Answer:
I'm sure you could use it but you really should ground it to something. If the wall box your are going to attach it to is metal then you can ground it to that.

I see no problem.. I bought two of them to install in my kitchen. They are very bright but you can use a dimmer switch. I have switched over 95% of the bulbs to led bulbs. They give off very little heat. Electric bill has been reduce. Oh and the wife loves them..

I've had this light for 1 1/2 years and it recently started flickering. We rechecked all the wire connections, but that didn't fix things.

Answer:
That's quite odd. Mine has been trouble free for as long as I have had it. I'm guessing that it may be faulty. If there is no corrosion on the wires, particularly the house wiring (If your house has aluminum wiring, you may need a connector that is made to couple copper wire to aluminum.) then it may just be bad. I have noticed that when LED traffic signals are going out, they flicker. I understand that Read More

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 309 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst purchase ever We bought this light for my kitchen so we would have an energy efficient light that looked great and wouldn't need the bulb replaced. What we got was a light fixture that went horribly wrong after 6 months. It strobes and flashes like a deranged disco ball determined to drive us out of our minds. The worst part is you can't just replace the bulb, you have to replace the entire light fixture. Not my idea of Eco-Friendly! Eco-Friendly should mean LESS waste, not more. My mom and brother also installed these fixtures in their homes and have the same problem! When you pay for a product that claims you will get 30 years of cost savings and you get 6 months and then have to replace the whole fixture it costs more than just paying for a little more electricity and getting a quality product. I will never buy this brand again! May 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Keep your receipt! Performed well for 14 months, then started failing. Thankfully it has a 5 yr warranty and I still have the receipt. Giving the replacement another try. Easy to install, so not really a big deal. May 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Really nice fixture This looks really nice in our entry way and is very bright, we don't really use it a lot so I am hesitant to put it on a dimmer but I may yet. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great light for the price! Easy to install - looks great! Used it to replace a hanging chandelier and it looks amazing, I went back and purchase a matching smaller one for the entryway. December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product at value price! This was such a simple installation that even I could do it. I simply removed the current old light fixture that I had and screwed this one in its place. The amount of light is better and it doesn't even take a light bulb. I am going to change out three more lights in my house because it was so easy. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice Low price, easy to install and putsout plenty of light. April 26, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Does not last Bought two a year ago. One lasted 6 months and now the 2nd one is starting to fail. It works when it feels like it. April 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow We have two ceiling light fixtures in kitchen. Neither put out much light and the one over the island used two bulbs. One kept burning out. So we replaced that fixture. It looked so nice we decided to replace the one over the sink. Now they match, look much better, and put out a LOT more light. Didn't take long to remove old fixture and install this one.
