Customer Questions & Answers

I mixed a gallon water to 2.5 oz weed killer and it did nothing. How do i mix it to kill grass and weeds?

Asked by: 3868
I have a large area to kill off in between pine trees and use a 20 gal. tow behind sprayer. I mix approximately 2.5 quarts with 17 gal. of water and a squirt of dish washing liquid as a surfactant to make the chemical stick to the weeds. The old timers use a little diesel fuel instead. When mixing, always fill your sprayer with at least 1/3 water before pouring in chemicals. I spray after the morning dew dries out and no sign of rain for at least a day. Like others have said, it take several days to show signs the weeds are dying and up to a couple of weeks to die off. Unfortunately it doesn't last very long before the weeds emerge again. I tried a higher concentrate with quicker results but the weeds came back just a fast. With over 1 acre to spray this method has become a very costly solution. I may start burning them off instead. last much longer.

what is diution ratio?

Asked by: firecop8
Product instructions say 1.5 oz for normal weeds and 2.5 oz per gallon for tough weeds. I have a 1/2 acre with all kinds of weeds. I decided too split the difference and use 2 oz per gallon ratio in a 4 gallon backpack tank sprayer. This ratio works great for me. Kills everything within a few day to a week. Colder temperatures may take a few day longer to see results.

2.5 Gal. Grass and Weed Killer Glyphosate Concentrate is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 210.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save and Effective I have 3,000 acres where I manage weeds. This is my number one tool for that purpose. It is effective on most weeds. It works well with drill and inject, cut stump or spray. Don't expect to see wilting or other signs right away. The mode of action doesn't produce immediate effects. But ten days to two weeks later all the weeds are dead. The trade-off is that this is the safest herbicide I have found when used as directed. The LD50 of 5,000 is midway between NaCl (3,000) and H2O (7,000). The short residual allows for planting or recruitment of other plants right away. No motility means it stays put and will not travel through the soil to desirable plants. Of coarse, always follow label directions and use PPE.

I order this 2.5 gallon item every year due to my acre property gets a lots spring weeds and this grass and weed killer works great (Home Depot does not carry this size in their stores). However, this order (12/2016) arrived with contain leaked thru and the box was partially wet. I called the customer service and she was very nice, asked me if I want to return it, I told her that I would have to repack it before I can return it, or it will contaiminate other packages. Finally, I told her how much was leaked out and she did a partial refund of my order. I think that was fair and I didn't have to repack it to return to their warehouse. I will have to order another one soon because the weeds are pooping up already since we had some warm temperture and rain around the New Year (Phoenix, AZ)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gets the job done This product works very good compared to Round-Up. For the price it's a great deal. The only complain I have is when they ship the container, its sealed with a plastic bag and it tends to spill and it causes a big mess to clean. The chemical spills inside the bag and once you open the bag be ready to wash them off.

I salvaged most of it, but what a mess! Go pick it up at the store!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Economical herbicide Has the full strength 41% Glyphosate at a very competitive price to my local ag outlet. Dilutes to make very many gallons. Some types of plants wilt very quickly after applied while others take several day to show effectiveness. After 5-7 days kill is obvious. Only thing is this herbicide does not appear to have a surfactant to aid penetration of waxy surface type and tough weeds. I add a few drops of concentrated dishwashing liquid to each gallon of spray. The warmer the weather, the better it works.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from product kills weeds As with most products of this type, "over night" dead appearing weeds is not going to happen. I did add an extra 1/2 cup per 3 gallons in my back pack sprayer to bring the strength closer to 52% (Roundup Super Concentrate). You must shake/agitate the product prior to use as per the instructions. Reapply in 2 weeks on any new weed starts. Factoring in the cost compared to similar strength Roundup concentrate, this item is value priced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bargin Same percentage glyphosate as "Roundup". Why pay double for a lable? Does the same thing. 2 1/2 gallon of Roundup is $130-$160.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheap & works great A fraction of the cost of the name-brand original glyphosate weed killer and works just as well. I use it on my gravel driveway and between the rows in the vegetable garden. Stress in the vegetation was noticed after about two days and things browned up nicely within a week. Given that it's a 40% concentrate, I mix it a little stronger and add a tablespoon of dish detergent to the sprayer with very good results.
