How can I install them with out adhesive and are they easy to cut to fit a 39.5x9.5 stair tread?

Asked by: Tommy
You didn't mention type of material they are to be installed on. If i had to cut them to fit, I would use a cutoff wheel, tape off both edges, and go slowly. If the stair thread is wooden, you may be able to use button screws to fasten them down.

This stair tread is made of cheap plastic that had an end broken off and a crack in the middle when I went to to pick up my order. The sales associate graciously re-ordered it. Second delivery ALSO had a cracked tread. This fragile item only looks good. I got my money back from HD without any problem. I expected a durable item that would withstand walking on it. Another reviewer (professional contractor) had given it a bad review for the same reason - it won't stand up to use despite the company video showing a man in boots tramping on it to get rid of snow/ice. A definitely inferior product that couldn't withstand being shipped to the store without cracking! Looks great, but i'll be purchasing an aluminium diamond pattern plate to top the last step in my stairs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! Heavy duty, but thin at the same time. I got these as I was sick of chipping paint off my steps every year with the ice and then having to repaint. Seem to be a good solution so far!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good quality product we put this on the front porch to protect the front of the wooden step facing the side walk. fits nicely, very strong. stays put pretty good. the only improvement would be if the back of it had non slip surface. i think it is ment to be glued to the surface. 2 small screws would work as well. I think the place we put it may not be the intended type of step. We pick it due to the strong construction, color, and length. very nice product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not what I thought it was This is a hard composite cover. I was looking for a rubberized product. So it was retuned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ComposiGrip Stair Tread My husband and I had both had slips on our wooden deck and basement stairs. Too scary when you're getting older, didn't want to break an ankle or worse! We saw this product advertised on Home Depot and thought we'd give it a shot. Test run on our one set of deck stairs. ComposiGrip is truly amazing! Even with freezing rain that we've experienced this winter, we could easily break away the ice using the back of a push broom and even our boot heals. The traction is great. And yes, you guessed it, we now have every deck stair covered AND our basement stairs too. Thank you for introducing this wonderful product and helping to keep us safer in our home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice product The tread cover arrived in good condition. I cut it to length with an abrasive rotary disk and it cut smoothly. I used sub-floor adhesive to install it and stacked weights on it to hold it in place while the adhesive cured. The material seems to be very tough and should hold up well to traffic and give excellent slip resistance.
