With the folds of this product it was difficult to measure for size and then to get it to lay flat. Used a hair dryer on hot air as recommended on the packaging. That still did not help get the folds out and for the product to lay flat. This would be a good product if it would be rolled instead of folded. Definitely a waste of money.

Like others I found that the product should have been rolled rather than folded. However, an hour in the sun on the hood of my truck and it flattened right out. Easy peasy.

Other reviews mentioned that this is hard to straighten the mat. I did it in 10 minutes. I cut the mat to size and placed it flat on a glass table. Then I ran a blow dryer Very slowly and closely over each bumpy area. The glass table held the heat on the other side and it developed kind of a static cling to keep it flat. 10 minutes and done.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dissatisfied Too many folds
I have used Contact products for years but this time I am really disappointed. I bought two of the mats and have tried piling on heavy books, hairdryer, putting them out in the sun (OK, sun in Virginia in January is not much), hanging in the house where it is warm and now have tried the clothes iron. There are still folds! Called Customer Service and the lady I spoke to had "straightened out 5 of them with a hairdryer". Maybe she had a bigger hairdryer than I do! Anyway I feel like the product is certainly not up to Contact standards and my $12.98 x 2 was wasted.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by litlmsb Nice Idea but Does Not Lay Flat
The liner material is easy to cut. The mat does not lay flat at all. Makes it hard to try measure and mark where the water lines are if they come up through the floor not to mention all the other stuff under the sink. I did the best I could. Even with weighty items on top of it, the liner curls up. Con-Tact needs to come up with a solution to this problem. I would imagine the traditional roll method would be better than folding it up as they do. Although the color is "graphite", it's still see through. I would recommend this product for new or undamaged cabinet bottoms, but not to hide any unsightly flaws or damage.

Like others, I thought this was a great way to protect the bottom of my cabinet. When I opened it I was surprised to see how much it had assumed the folds and wouldn't lay flat. Even with a week of having something on top of it to even it out, it still wasn't flat. It is now in the warm California sun where I hope it will assume its flat position. Otherwise, it was a total waste of money and I will go back to the store to buy some cheap peel and stick vinyl tile squares to do the job the old fashioned way.
Made in Taiwan. Need I say more? This is definitely an inferior product and certainly not worth the price since it is so difficult to install properly. Easily fixed with proper packaging including putting this on a roll instead of wrapped around a piece of thin cardboard.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Roger Worked well
This product worked well. It was easy to cut to shape and it was initially bumpy but going over with the hair dryer worked really well. Didn't take much with the hair dryer on high and it smoothed right out.

Decent quality. There were a few folds in the beginning, but they have flattened out. I would purchase again.... it does the job.... it's not rocket science... ; )
