The 'Structural Foam' range of toolboxes are designed for the Tradesman or serious DIY enthusiast. They are moulded from 'Structolene' a co-polymer resin that is impervious to most chemicals, petrol and oil etc. Structolene has a very high stiffness to weight ratio making it stronger, weight for weight, than steel.

20 In. Structural Foam Flat Roof Tool Box is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, a small but tough toolbox! If you're even considering this toolbox, it's probably because you're tired of the cheapo options available to you in the smaller box range. This toolbox is tough enough to stand on and its top tray won't collapse like so many others. I keep about 20 lbs of wrenches in this box and it's great. I just wish I had looked harder for a box like this to begin with rather than trying and then getting disgusted with toolboxes in the $10-$15 range. Also, this one is USA-made.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty Good, but not Quite as Sturdy as I Had Hoped To be clear, these toolboxes are much nicer than your average cheap plastic toolbox; the structural foam is much thicker and stronger than regular ABS plastic. However, I was a little disappointed that they weren't as heavy-duty as I was expecting. I bought two of these for a very specific application where size was an issue; these were the only ones that were both structural foam and would fit the space I was working with. Previously I was using a larger Stanley Fat Max box, which I can't say enough good things about, but some changes I made required going with a pair of smaller boxes and unfortunately Stanley's Fat Max line did not have any sizes that would work for me, so I gave these a try. The walls of the Contico boxes are thinner than the Stanley, and the latch construction is not quite as strong. That said, they are well built overall and should be fine for their size (you can only cram so much weight into a box this size,) but I was hoping for more. There was also quite a bit of flash around the mold injection points that I had to cut off, but really this should have been done at the factory. Nit-picky, but still annoying. Again, these are much better than your average box, but if you are familiar with Stanley's structural foam toolbox line (there are two handheld versions), don't expect these to be of the same quality or have the same features. You could probably sit on these Contico boxes without destroying them, but I'd be leery about standing on one, while I wouldn't hesitate with the Stanley. And why more companies don't make a toolbox with a weather-resistant seal (like the Fat Max) is beyond me; this would be a very welcome addition to an otherwise fairly average toolbox.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not completely sold on the durability for every day use This box was ordered as an addition to an everyday "job" tool box. It is a good size and I was hoping to get away from a metal box. Upon first review, the top of the box seemed to flex when picking it up. The lid seems to be strengthened, but I question the rivets that hold the handle to the lid lasting over time. Putting 20# of tools inside and putting in and out of a gang box every day??? After reviewing the hinges, I am sure that this box will not hold up to everyday "job use". For job use, I believe it would be a waste of money. For home use, I like the size and style, but again, I would not recommend this for daily use at a job site.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable tool box I've used this model for over 20 years until mine was stolen or I'd still have the original. I wanted the exact model because the ones in the store were no where near as tough, These things are indestructible. It's a good size, although it could be a little bigger. You can load it with tools until you can barely lift it and this thing will handle it with ease.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Happy If this tool box is so great why is there not at least a year guarantee? Less than six months old and the top split from on end to the other after a coworker stepped on it. Durable? I think not! Now I'm out 30 bucks and stuck with a lemmon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Would buy again I bought mine used - took the top tray out and loaded it with boxes of nails and screws - so as much weight as I can comfortably carry with no issues. A big advantage to me is I can use this as a base and stack other bagged tools on top. I also bought the longer one and use to to carry my worm drive saw, protects the saw, serves as a base for loading and easy transport to the site.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! Same as 25 years ago. Same tool box as 25 years ago. Not that I needed to replace, just add to my collection.
