Well worth the time to install. I wake up and flip fan on, pulls in morning air drop house to 75deg.

The shutter is the worst part about the fan. It is extremely thin and will not keep out much air while its closed. It opens and closes just fine, it just wasn't designed to be air tight. There are no gaskets on it anywhere. You will definitely want to cover this up in the winter if you live in a colder climate!
The main housing is made from relatively thin metal too. You can tell this was put together quickly without wasting any material- nothing on this is overkill. It is designed well enough though to work just fine. The pulleys lined up okay and it runs smoothly. I did add two extra bolts to the motor mounting bracket. Mine only came with two, and there are locations for four.

This is not the Rolls Royce of ceiling fans. It is a ceiling fan that draws air through your house at a decibel level which is reasonable for a machine doing this job. My handyman took about 3 hours to install it and he said the directions were easy to follow. I use it almost every day. It does a great job.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cadman Missing Parts
Got the fan in, carried it 90 miles to jobsite only to open box and find missing parts. Supposed to be a 2 speed 24" belt driven fan with switch and shutter. Only thing in box was fan and shutter. No switch, no belt, no paperwork of any kind. Pretty difficult for a belt driven fan to operate without a belt. Call HD and they called manufacturer 2 weeks ago, no one has called back and parts still missing.........not a very good way to conduct business...........not satisfied at all...........do not do any Internet business with Home Depot...if you do beware..........

The pulley on the fan was NOT tightened at the factory. As a result, the pulley slipped way out of alignment from the fan motor and the fan froze. I was able to get in the attic and fix it, but this should never happened in the first place. Pulley on the motor was not set right either, so I had to use a puller to remove it and set it properly. Fortunately this was done prior to installation. If you purchase this fan, make sure to check all set screws, nuts and bolts to ensure tightness BEFORE you install it. The fan does a great job and is relatively quiet compared to my last fan.

I know its a great idea during times when it is a bit cooler outdoors---just been in the high 90s since installing so need to rely on central AC for now.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ProfessorKen Bearings not seated correctly, pulley loose
Fan came with loose pulley set screw, and bearing holders incorrectly installed at an angle which caused a repetitive noise until corrected. Thought I would have to remove and return which would have been a big bummer. Decided to disassemble both bearing holders and relock in place which corrected problem. Pulley set screw is buried hex type so be sure to check if you purchase this! All other hardware was on tight. Works well now. Instructions do say to check all screws but really! Got leg cramps in my 64 year old bod from installing in tight attic so get ready for the bengay ointment.

Fan was just what I wanted. It was easy to install. The box was shipper without the belt and switches but after I contacted customer service they shipped them to me free of charge. Overall I am happy with this purchase.
