Answer:
Cooleroo material is open weave and definitely not waterproof. It would not be appropriate for keeping out rain.

Answer:
This item provides excellant shade coverage but because it is a weave water does go through as well as the breezes. It will prohibit some of the rain but not a downpour.

Absolutely. This material is great to work with and the shade factor is great - while it still allows light in.

Answer:
The shade cloth is an open weave, so the thread or ties just loop through any hole in the weave. By going one row in from the edge for thread, and maybe two rows for ties, there is plenty of 'hold' in the fabric to avoid tearing out. The thread and ties are for fastening to a frame. If one intends to just have corner fastenings with clips, I would advise doubling over the corner for the clip holding. I Read More

Answer:
Please note our fabric has holes that allow the fabric to breath and keep you cooler underneath. Please visit our website at coolaroousa.com under DIY (Do It Yourself-Outdoor Projects-How to Insall Shade Fabric) for ideas. The Butterfly clips fasten around something like fencing or cable and then clip into the fabric on both sides.

6 ft. x 15 ft. Wheat Shade Cloth-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blocks heat and uv rays Bought this for windows that face east overlooking the pool. During the summe, the sun beats in on the windows so I purchased this to reduce the heat inside the room. Great quality and easy to work with. I purchased a gromet tool so I could attach the cloth to existing hurricane shutter bolts affixed around the windows. Can be easily removed during the winter months when the sun is welcomed to heat up the room. This is the best shade cloth on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A quick and easy fix We needed something in the south windows of our store while we wait for awnings. This material is very sturdy and easy to cut to fit. We simply cut and then hung the material inside the windows on the cup hooks we hang Christmas lights on and viola, shade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job We got this product to shade our campground patio. We get the sun right at dinnertime, which makes it difficult to enjoy when we have company. My husband installed clips on our awning and we just hang this screen up to block the sun but allow the air through.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from does not provide as much sun block as darker color I have tried the green, grey and wheat shade cloth. All seem durable but the wheat does not block as much sun or offer the privacy of the two darker colors. I am using some as a privacy screen, and the wheat is nearly transparent, even with dual layers. The others provide much more privacy with dual layers. I preferred the wheat color but do not want to use dozens of rolls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Purchesed this in Novermber 09 to cover my RV here in Phoenix, Arizona where the sun eats everything. Still looks new and stands up to high winds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wheat shade cloth awesome product We are so happy with the purchase of several rolls of this shade fabric. It has cooled the side of our house perfectly. Easy to cut, didn't need any ties or anything fancy. Just used a staple gun and the windy southern California days don't bother it a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from product is first rate - great shade while still letting air go through the Coolaroo shade cloth works great. I used it on one side of an EZ-up canopy in 95 deg. heat and it performed amazingly well. Good shade plus the weave lets any breezes flow through.
