I purchased this misting tree, was thrilled. The first one I received was leaky and was not soldered at the base (above the water connection area). Returned for exchange. The second one was worse, leaks everywhere. My husband says he can solder the leaks. He might as well rebuild it in order for it to work correctly. Great idea, terrible workmanship.

Came with limbs already broke off-bottom not sautered to bottom piece which attaches to hose, so flies off the water line and then 2 more branches broke! VERY poor quality-surprised Home Depot is selling this~

I was thrilled when i found this product on homedepot.com, living in a part of the country known for intense heat. Misters are commonly used in our area for natural air cooling outdoors, but extremely hard to find for residential use. This beautiful tree caught my eye right away, and even though i thought it was a little expensive (i bought it before they lowered the price a few days later!) at $129, i thought it would be well worth it to have a cooler space in the backyard for our summer parties. The tree arrived in 5 working days, but for as fragile as it looked, not very well packed. It is in two pieces, the bottom half having the spikes and the nozzle attachment, then you screw the part with the tree "branches" on to it. The tips of the branches have the misting nozzles. I immediately noticed the joints to have been soldered in a different color than the copper tubing. The copper was dented in several areas, but nothing we couldn't live with. I handled it very carefully, because like i said, it looks very delicate, and plugged it into the water hose, only to find it had a major leak at one of the joints. i approached it and touched my finger to the leak to see what it would take to plug it up, and the limb fell off in my hand!!! I called my uncle, a welder, to see if he could fix it, and he came over and soldered it for several hours (in the process the other two limbs broke off and also had to be soldered on). HD online customer service was very sympathetic and of course offered to replace it, in spite of the attempts at repair, but we just couldn't be more disappointed - what a shame - if it worked, it would be great.
