Product Overview

The Yard Butler Lawn Coring Aerator revitalizes old lawns while using less water and fertilizer. Old lawns can become compacted. Thatch from dead roots can also build up to create a thick barrier, keeping water and air from reaching the roots. By removing two 3 1/2 in. cores, the Lawn Coring Aerator reduces compaction and thatch to let air, water, and fertilizer down to the root zone. At the same time it stimulates root growth by “pruning” the roots. Golf courses and baseball fields everywhere aerate their lawns. The heavy duty powder coated steel is guaranteed to last a lifetime.

  • Removes two 3 1/2 in. cores, reducing soil compaction while letting air, water and fertilizer get down to the roots
  • Reduces soil compaction, water run-off and puddling
  • Lets air, water and fertilizer down to the roots
  • Your lawn will look better with less water and fertilizer
  • Promotes vigorous root growth, strengthening tolerance to drought and heat stress
  • All steel construction - 37 in. tall, 9 in. wide, weighs 4 lb.
  • Guaranteed forever

Customer Reviews

Core Aerator-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value and well built I researched many different aerators on the market and chose the Yard Butler based on other consumer reviews, ratings and value. I found it to be very well build, easy to use and I was able to get the job done much faster then I thought it would take based on other reviews I had read. I would recommend giving your lawn a very good watering the night before and again an hour or two prior to aerating your lawn. I recommend this product to anyone whose lawn isn't large enough to require a riding mower. This product is perfect for yards under a couple thousand square feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly! This product is exactly as advertised. I had no problems using it in my yard. I have a small yard and aerated the lawn after a good spring rain. Plugs came out, no issues with clogging. I was worried since it costs so little that it would not work well. This was worth more than I spent!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for a small area. This works great for a small area or in an area that cannot be reached with a larger aerator. Definitely need a larger aerator if you have a big area though or it will wear you out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did what I expect it to do. I read the reviews of this and other core aerators. I decided this was the best of those I read about and after using it, I was not disappointed. My soil is very hard packed. However, we have had a lot of rain and the unit worked well in being pressed down in the ground to form deep holes. A few spots did not go the full distance. I just moved to another spot to avoid damaging the cylinders.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product performed exactly as described. This little gem is perfect for small yards or confined areas. I live in a townhouse type housing complex. Not only aerated my yard, but did neighbors as well ... not in one day of course. Worked a 20' x 25' area at a time. Product worked exactly as described. Be sure to thoroughly hose off all dirt before storing. Otherwise, dirt will harden and product will not work properly during next use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it's supposed to. This little thing gets the job done. I did probably 3500 sq. ft. with it and didn't have any major problems (the back yard ain't gonna happen). It had been damp in our area after the remains of a tropical storm came through, but no real rain the week before I used it and I didn't water. Only a half-dozen or so issues of clogging, usually when I forced it into a rocky patch and had a pebble stuck. It works just fine, it's just not something you want to use for a very large yard. I'll be renting a machine next fall. Word of warning: I'm 5'7" and it was about right for me, though probably would be ok for someone a few inches taller. Tall guys, you might be bending a little too far for it to be tolerable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid If you have a small lot and do not mind a bit of manual labor, this is well worth it... Saves on renting a core aerator year after year for sure!
