This Cosco ladder is ideal for all types of uses in and around the home. Love the wide steps and platform for holding tools, paint, whatever. It's wider leg caps prevent it from digging into the ground. My brother had one, bought one for me. I bought another for the cottage, and one for a family member.

Strong, sturdy ladder - feel perfectly secure using it.
Didn't want to buy a flimsy, lightweight ladder - worried that the 3rd step wouldn't
This ladder is perfect. Yes, it's heavy, but you need the weight to provide safety.
It's great - happy I chose it.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by StoneBob large comfortable steps and sturdy
Not as good as the Cosco painters ladder we bought in 1998 but sturdy and comfortable to use nevertheless. The old one had a paper towel holder built on the bottom of the tray and the tray was larger. This model won't hold a roller tray but has a paint can recess. The upper rail which makes climbing safer is in the way of the roller tray if you are using a roller to paint. We still have the old ladder. Don't know why they would have discontinued it. Maybe I'm getting old and grumpy but I would have bought another one like my old Cosco. This new one is nice. Maybe Cosco makes a roller tray that fits this model!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Agassiz Great around-the-house ladder
Our old Cosco ladder finally bit the dust and we replaced it with this one. Bought in online with HD: first time, worked well. This ladder did not have the paper towel holder our old one did, but was formed so the attachments that made up the paper towel holder just moved over, a pleasant surprise and reward for buying Cosco again. The handy paper towel holder is great for painting and caulking for stopping messes from spreading quickly, so you might look for a model that has it.
This ladder has the right mix of height and narrowness for around-the-house jobs: fits in tighter places than our previous one, which was wider and hence a bit more stable. But stability on this one is fine. The higher support bar, and more capable tray are big pluses. The 225 lb rating is conservative.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by rick999732 ok quality but a little flimsy
It is good but needs some improvements right out of the box. The feet are flimsy and need reinforcement and something to not scratch wood floors right off the bat

This ladder was a replacement for the EXACT same ladder. I loved the first one, and nothing came close to being as nice, so I ordered another when the first one broke (after many years of great service)...Very sturdy....

I love this ladder. I use it around the house all the time. It is useful for so many projects. It is the perfect height for painting, especially for cutting in at the ceiling.
My favorite features are the wide steps(easy on the feet), and the utility tray. No need to hold the paint can when painting, or fumble with stuff when on the ladder.
The tray has holes to accomodate tools, such as
screw drivers, etc.
The ladder is sturdy and folds easily. I highly recommend
this item. My go-to ladder for so many projects!

I owned a very similar ladder by Cosco for many years, but recently gave it to one of my children who continues to find it quite useful. I have used it for many remodeling and painting jobs and found it very stable. The wide steps and high handle provide a safe, steady work platform. I replaced it with this newer model and find it every bit as good as the original. It folds even flatter than my prior model making for efficient storage. I received the ladder in good condition and in a timely manner. I have no reservations about the purchase and would recommend it to anyone seeking a very safe and useful step stool/ladder for use around the house.
