I love to watch the mist cascade down and around my plants and orchids. Very zen and peaceful looking and I've discovered that you can stick one end of aquarium tubing into the out let hole in the top of the unit and run the other end of the tube into an reptile/terrarium tank and turn the unit on high and watch it pump lovely fog into your terrarium! Costs less than most of those expensive reptile fog machines and its much more pleasing to the eye to look at because the unit is pretty, stylish and zen looking. Home Depot sells every size of air line tubing too so if you want to try out this humidifier for your terrarium grab some of that while you are in the store as well.
I'm able to keep humidity levels around my plants above 50% with this unit by boiling water on my stove in the mornings until I get the humidity level to where I want then turn the stove off and the unit on running it on medium and it does a great job keeping the humidity level up for the rest of the day. Even running a fan on low next to it for air circulation for my orchids does not dry up the humidity this unit puts out.
Its quiet too and needs no filters unless you have really hard water which I do not. I've seen absolutely no white dust or mineral deposits left behind from its vapor.
I run it on medium an average of 8 hours per day and I only have to fill it every other day. And when it runs out of water it shuts itself off so you don't have to worry about it burning itself out if you forget to fill it up again. Be sure not to fill it all the way to the top though. I made that mistake and it does not put out much vapor when you do that.
And I love it because its lovely to look at too. At night the little light inside gives off a very subtle glowing light. Looks great in my grow room area.
See my video I made of it. So very zen.

This humidifier does exactly what it was advertised to do. You don't hear any noise, adjustment level is spot on.... My only complaint would be that I wish the Crane held more water. We use ours pretty consistently now that's is wintertime.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by maddiegirl Great humidifier :)
This is a great humidifier. I did want to point out that I'm not having the problems as some of the other reviewers: talking about filling the water and leaking while trying to fill it. I have used this humidifier, non-stop this winter.....I've never had the problem. I actually pick up the top 1/2, take it to the sink, fill it with filtered water and I haven't had any issues with having to be careful or trying to plug it up so the water doesn't leak out....the water has stayed put. My only issue is with securing the cap....boy, you have to get it threaded, just right before it will twist on properly. Compared to other issues, not really a big deal. It's a cool mist and plenty of it (and that's at the recommended 1/2 way point on the dial) I can usually go two nights before having to refill it. It's a great room humidifier and so glad that I gave it a try. I think you'll be glad you did.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by skibum Great form & function
Everything it claims - looks great, works great, and lasts about 11 or 12 hours at the lowest setting, which is fine for me. I have it on a high shelf and have not noticed any of the white dust one often sees with humidifiers. Manual is also nicely written. I was tempted to put a towel under it as I've done in the past, but manual was very clear a towel could block fan and proper function - smooth flat surface only. Who knew?

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by lymbuj Broke down within 2 months
Started groaning like a sick calf on start-up, and finally just stopped working completely. Crane customer service is also quite poor. They don't answer their phones during their stated operating hours, and make it quite difficult to return. I would not recommend this particular model or manufacturer.

this humidifier has vastly improved my quality of life. No filter, no noise, no hot steam-- just cool, quiet and effective.I especially like the setting dial that enables me to turn it on low output for the hour or so before bed time, then to crank it up to highest setting for the duration of the overnight hours. No more sneezing in the morning! Thank you to who ever designed this thing.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ProfessorK It has potential but did not help me.
After reading a lot of reviews on humidifiers, I had high hopes that using one would help with my allergy symptoms. Alas, that has not happened after two weeks of using my Cool Mist Humidifier. I have no complaints about the product (although the color is yellow, not green), just my response to it.

After one month I can’t complain and it is quiet. It’s a little bit difficult to fill and to clean. There is always some water left in the bottom. Looks cool.
