Using in single bulb ceiling lights, ceiling fan fixtures, and in standing torche lamps. Great light tone, easy on eyes. Can be a postitive or negetive depending on use light spreads perpendicular 360 with led inside shaded coated glass cover limiting light spread to top and bottom of bulb. Unfortionately appears Cree has discontinued much of their TW (True White) line, this bulb has a CRI of 80, their older 40 and 60 equivelents use to be available in TW also with a CRI of 93. Come on Cree ad a high watt equiv high CRI to your line up. NOTE: I do not recomend the 3-Way version of this 100 watt equiv, lasted 2 months, the Cree bulb failure I have had.

Purchased several of these and after the first round of burnouts, I took them back to Home Depot who allowed me to exchange them there since they had only lasted a couple of weeks. After a couple more months these started flickering and burned out. PIcture shows only half the LED's lighting up before burning out. Cree offers a 10 yr warranty, but too many stipulations to make it worthwhile paying to send back. I ended up buying another brand of LED lights at a fraction of the cost and haven't had any issues. I will be staying away from the Cree products from now on.

Bought 6 of these for our new home when we bought it last April. One burned out already, another flickers at random. That is a failure rate of 33%. Buy something else.

I bought two of these bulbs and in about six months they are both burned out. As an electrician I have used many other LED manufacturers lamps and never had premature failures like this. They began flickering around 3 months in and total failure within 6 months. I didn't think twice on purchasing them because Cree is a pioneer in the LED field but they were a total disappointment . At 21 dollars a bulb I would have alot of explaining to do to customers when it is supposed to last 20 years and barely makes it six months.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DoctorJ Cree doesn't honor its warranty; lasted 6 months
I bought one of these expensive LED bulbs with a 5 yr warranty. It died in 6 months so I paid to send it back to Cree and they mailed me a replacement. The replacement lasted another 6 months, so I mailed that one back to Cree 3 months ago, never got a response. Their 1600 lumen LEDs last no longer than incandescents and at $20, they're definitely not cost-effective. Cree LEDs used to be the gold standard. Now, they're not only no better than anyone else's and cost more but since they won't honor their warranty, I recommend keeping away from Cree products altogether.

Was satisfied that I could finally find this particular bulb. Thank you Home Depot. Because there is limited light in my kitchen, this bulb provides the optimum visual acuity and it's dimmable to boot.

Bulb lasted less than 6 months. Used about 8 hours/day for 5 days per week. My less expensive bulbs have out lasted this expensive bulb by far.

We bought one of these. It lasted 4 whole months. Unfortunately, it is outside the return period for Home Depot. This is very lame. These are not good bulbs.
