Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 75 reviewers.
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Short Life Used this bulb is an overhead fixture (Not recessed in ceiling) under normal daily use - being 2-3 hours per day. Bulb failed in less than 2 years of use. Electric cost savings not worth the price of the bulb. I gave 2 stars because the lighting was excellent. June 25, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Does the 100Watt a21 bulb work in all positions. I needed better lighting in my work shop. So I bought the Cree 100 w bulb at Home Depot. Took it home and installed it in a overhead porcelain open lamp holder. It switched on immediately. I thought every thing was fine, until I returned from another part of the basement and found the light out. It would not switch back on. I turned it off, dishearteningly, thinking I had been had. It seems that after it cooled down, it started working again. I removed it after a series of these shut downs. I installed it in a table lamp, pointed upright, seems to work okay. Evidently, Don't put it in a open lamp holder facing down. I called Cree, they told me that it will work in any position. No Way---Gets too Hot...and FAILS.. July 4, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of Money The light output and power consumption for these bulbs were initially pretty amazing, however they didn't last long before they started flickering and ultimately went out as you can see in the attached pictures of burned out LED's. Cree has a warranty, but you pay for shipping, which is more hassle then I have time for, so not really a good warranty. For the price these should be indestructible. I would recommend staying away from these bulbs. January 31, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by cree bulbs#205083141 I CAN NOT USE THESE BULBS! NOT VERY HAPPY AT ALL! NOW LISTEN VERY CLOSLY TO WHAT I HAVE TO TELL YOU. HOME DEPOT HAS A MASSIVE PROBLEM WITH THIS AND OTHER NEW STYLE BULBS. THIS BULB ON YOUR PRODUCT OVERVIEW STATES THE FOLLOWING " REPLACES A TRADITIONAL 100 WATT BULB AND FEATURES A A21 BULB SHAPE". I BOUGHT THESE BULBS TO INSTALL AS A REPLACEMENT IN MY KITCHEN FIXTURES THAT HAVE A FLAT REMOVABLE FROSTED GLASS LENS . AFTER INSTALLING THE NEW CREE BULBS THE LENS COULD NOT BE REINSTALLED BACK ONTO THE FIXTURE DUE TO THE BULB BEING 5 INCHES LONG AND NOT THE SAME LENGTH OF A STANDARD BULB! I HAVE GONE TO MY LOCAL HOME DEPOT AND TAKEN A TAPE MEASURE AND EVERY BULB THAT I WANTED TO GET WAS 5 INCHES OR MORE IN TOTAL LENGTH . SO IN CLOSING I HAVE $1000.00 IN KITCHEN LIGHT FIXTURES AND NO BULBS THAT CAN BE SHORT ENOUGH TO FIT SO THAT I CAN INSTALL THE LENSES! SOMEBODY NEEDS TO ADVISE ALL OF YOUR BULB MANUFACTURERS ABOUT THIS BULB LENGTH ISSUE! SO NOW I AM STUCK WITH THESE BULBS,MY ONLINE ORDER NUMBER WAS W491608898 AND ORDERED ON 5/20/16 @ 9:16 PM EDT. PLEASE ADVISE ME ON RESOLVING THIS ISSUE. June 14, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Only lasted 6 months It was very bright and lit up our garage very well but after six months it failed completely. April 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Burned Out on Cree I bought two of these bulbs in the summer of 2015 and by January of 2016 they had both completely failed. One of them flickered continuously for the short period that it actually operated. A 10 year warranty sounds good, but who actually saves light bulb receipts for that long to possible make a warranty claim. I will disregard the CREE advertising campaign to not buy cheaper, lower quality bulbs. I have purchased cheaper bulbs and they have worked fine for years. I will never buy Cree products again or recommend them to anybody that I know. January 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not a happy camper! I had to order the 5 pack twice, the first time it arrived with a broken bulb. The second box arrived okay and I installed all, but I had my first failure after 2 weeks. The second failure just occurred now after 3 months. If I could return the whole box I would do so and buy Phillips at half the price!!! I'm not sure but what the problem could be shipping damage, these bulbs came with packing at the bottom of the box, but none at the top. Both boxes arrived the same way! My understanding was they were shipped from Cree!! I'M NOT IMPRESSED!!! February 27, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unbearable Flickering Bulb After a few months the bulb starts to flicker. It was mounted overhead and the flicker makes it unbearable to sit in the room. Bulb warranty is 10 years but you have to send it back at your expense with sales receipt, for a replacement bulb! Another bulb of the same quality? Buying this product is a waste of your money and will cause you great annoyance. March 19, 2016
