I replaced all of my incandescents this past winter with LEDs , most are CREE bulbs. They have been in for six months or less. Today one of the 100 watt CREE bulbs in my basement died. This light is on less then one hour per day. I went to Home Depot to inquire about the Lifetime warranty and was told that I have to deal with the manufacturer. Well, for starters , the register slip is required . Who saves register slips for light bubs ? Then the bulb has to be sent to Cree for replacement. Well , of course I don't have the slip although I somehow do have the package probably because it wasn't in the socket very long. Of course , it would probably cost me more then the $3.97 that I paid for it to mail it so I might as well go buy another bulb from a different manufacturer.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jason 20 years or 2 years? Bought 4, all dead or dying.
So disappointed on this product. Bought 4 two years ago. One failed last December, one did the same thing two weeks ago, and the rest two only have part of the led units working. All bulbs have debris inside. One got a loosed glue piece inside, and one got a big crack on the glass cover.

I bought this about a year ago and 1/2 side has now failed to work. Supposed to work 20 years . . . I don't think so.

I bought cree bulbs for my whole house last year prior to installing solar- about 1 month ago, I bulb died... yesterday another one died- this time I called cree, and they are sending me replacements... BUT.. these things are suppose to last for years, not months- I will not buy cree bulbs ever again...

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Kent Garbage, don't buy, burned out within 6 months
Bought it from a local Home Depot store on 01/02/2016. It burned out tonight, 06/17/2016, so these "forever" LED bulbs (from CREE, I can't speak for other brands), are anything but "forever" bulbs.

Don't waste your money on these. I am an early adopter of LED technology. I have many Cree Can inserts in my house. Actually over 100. All are doing fine and are of great quality and none have died. I bought these for my den lamps. I had 6 and all six have died within 1 year. I have HD receipts, but Cree wants the retail "proof of purchase". Who keeps retail packaging? I am sure Cree knew this when they created the warranty with this stipulation. I have the actual receipt and the bulbs have not even been on the market long enough for the warranty to expire, but no dice with them. At this point I am praying my can inserts don't start dying. I have receipts, but no retail packaging. Buy Philips or some other brand worthy of your business

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by rdelp These are trash, Don't last more than 3 months
I got some of these in December 2015 they died, got warranty replacement and bought some more thinking it was a fluke. Got them in March 1 is already quit working. I don't understand why they don't last, I thought LED was the new tech that people raved about. Latest one to die was in the over head bedroom light. I run A/C so it was never too hot in the room or moist.

I bought two of these about a year ago and both have now failed. The first died without a fight, whereas the other started flickering and strobing until it gave out. Naturally, I didn't keep the receipt. I certainly wouldn't ever recommend buying anything from Cree...
