It's not that I keep buying the bulbs, but Cree (and Home Depot) have replaced so many under warranty (to their credit) that I couldn't tell you how many I have gone through. I am sitting here looking at two more dead bulbs that I was considering packing up and sending back to Cree, but sitting here writing this review I realize that my time is more valuable than that. These are headed to recycling, and Phillips bulbs only from this point on.

Home Depot won't honor the "warranty". I would have to ship the item to Cree for any return and that will be $5-7 for a $12 bulb. NEVER again will I be duped for this brand. I'll try COSCO as someone here recommended. UGH!!!! Junk!!

I bought these when they first came out and paid TOP dollar. The warranty said I could take them back to the place of puchase for an exchange. Home Depot (Cree also) has since changed the policy to state I need to send them back for warranty exchange. Well the shipping cost defeats this warranty, it's $5 to $10 to ship a $12+ bulb. NO THANKS won't buy again.

I spent the extra money to get the dimmable feature plus the higher output (100W versus 60W) to use in my Master bedroom. I was happy with the soft white light and the performance up until today (4/11/17) when the bulb would no longer turn on. This is the second Cree bulb I have purchased which did not last as advertised. I will no longer purchase this brand. I have purchased about a dozen Phillips 60W equivalent bulbs that are performing to expectations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great light color and CRI, but didn't last long. This bulb has great brightness, color and CRI. One of the best bulbs I have tried regarding matching incandescent bulbs. The problem is the bulb only lasted 6 weeks! I don't know if it was just one bad one. I would definitely recommend this bulb minus the short life for on the one I bought. I have since bought the same bulb as a replacement and so far so good but it's only been a couple weeks.

Interesting thing with use, was it went into an old lab instrument that was being considered to be replaced. From a safety perspective it was identified as a hazard due to simply the temperature of the sides of the unit. So, replaced incandescent bulb with LED bulb and problem solved. Unit old enough that when it was new, the term LED did not exist.
