Purchased 5 of these 18 months ago and three have already failed. 10 year warrantee not worth it when you have to mail them back.
There are better options out there do not waste your money on these

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HappyGrandma Impressive appearance & performance
This particular bulb was deemed a "best buy" in a magazine devoted to rating products. Its outstanding features are that it can be used in an exterior closed fixture and also be used with a photo sensor. We installed the 40watt equivalent LED bulbs throughout our townhouse property and are pleased with the appearance and performance. The promised extended life of this bulb was a huge selling point. Out of 96 bulbs purchased only one was defective and will be returned to the local store for an exchange.

We've been using the "curly" florescent bulbs but they are not lasting near as long as they are supposed to last, especially on lights we turn off and on a lot, so we tried a Cree LED (soft white). I was very surprised to discover in the living room the Cree "60W" had the same look/brightness as a "curly" "100W"! Now since my wife doesn't like the "curly" look, I'm now trying Cree "40W"s in the ceiling fan. This light gets turned off and on the most in our house and I think the vibrating fan shortens the life of regular fan bulbs. We'll see. The cost of the LEDs is a lot more, but if they last as long as they are supposed to last they will be worth it since they are certainly better for the environment and easier to dispose.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by N1616 finally LED's right for our needs
Our son recommended these. He's had them a while and all are doing well. The appearance of the bulb is fantastic. It looks much like the old incadescent bulbs. The color is good and the light radiates smoothly in all directions. We are extremely pleased and are changing over all our CFL bulbs for LED bulbs. We also got 60watt equivalent bulbs for bathrooms and bedrooms. The 40watt bulbs are in a chandelier in the dining room... more than enough light.

I have one chandelier in my home that is on a dimmer switch, and if you've priced CFL dimming bulbs, you know why this is the only fixture in my home that doesn't use CFL's.
I'd been looking for a more reasonably-priced LED for my chandelier, and saw these and ordered them. They take a bit longer to arrive but overall only a little over a week and it was Christmas week so I'm not complaining on the delivery time.
The bulbs themselves come packed very securely which made me feel a whole lot better when I opened the box. They feel like gummy bears when you take them out of their package—sticky. Anyway, I installed them and these 40-watt bulbs are brighter than the 40-watt incandescents I was using. I had to dim my chandelier in order to take the pic to show you the difference, because at full brightness my little camera was overwhelmed with light and did not show it.
If these hold up, they'll be more than worth it to me.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mike Great product. Better than the CFL bulbs
I liked the cool white and ordered the warm white to see how they looked. I am very satisfied. Will be purchasing more in the near future. Picture is next to two 60 watt equivalent CFL bulbs.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DeptfordRich120 Excellent, almost as bright as 60w bulbs
We're converting to LED to conserve energy and try to save a little money. It's amazing how these bulbs only use 6W and do the job. We're definitely going to buy more. We bought these online as a 6 pack because it was cheaper than individual ones, but going in the store the other day, I noticed they were priced at $8 each and now that's cheaper. Not sure why that price appears to be in store only... Great bulbs though!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Craig33 Failure rate is awfully high!
Good thing this product has a 10 year warrantee because you will need it. We purchased a new custom house three years ago and it was equipped with the compact floursent lights that take forever to "warm up" and reach brightness. We have been replacing these with what we thought was a smart long term value in the more expensive (but supposedly more efficient) LEDs at a fairly substantial cost. These LED bulbs have been failing at an alarming rate and we have replaced 7 or 8 LEDs after only 12 - 18 months. Home Depot is great and exchanges them with no questions asked.....for now! Beware!
