Make sure the bulb will physically fit and not interfere with or bind against lamp shades or the fan blades (crash!). If it doesn't fit, just take it back to the Home Depot. Most of their stores provide an excellent satisfaction policy, so if you have to, you can keep trying the options until you find one that works.
Most ceiling fans I've seen take the most common bulb base that this product provides--medium screw base--but a few require less common bases (candelabra) or exotic lamps (halogen), and in those situations, a medium screw base LED or CFL conversion will obviously not work. Read Less

I just called the Cree company for a warranty issue on one of these bulbs. They claim they are now discontinued by Cree; and they are sending me out a "4 flow" style as a replacement. Why is Home Depot still selling these ?

60W Equivalent Daylight (5000K) A19 Dimmable LED Light Bulb is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 312.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Been using these since they came out....a good value, long lasting I've been using these CREE bulbs since they came out a few years ago.....all in all, I'm happy with them although they don't really last as long as they say - then again, none of them really do. But I've had good luck, no recalls, no fires, they stay fairly cool, and the give off a realistic light. They also represent a good value and are consistently good.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from 3 years later I replaced all the bulbs in my house. 3 years later 8 have died already. Not happy with that. And they really not lights that stay on all the time either

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cree daylight led works great in kitchen We bought 2 to try and went back for more because we were so pleased with them. Packaging was easy to open, just tear or peel the cardboard apart and plastic comes right out, then easy to open plastic for bulb. Instant on brightness of this led is better than CFL because there's no warm up time and these light up our kitchen better. Protective safety coating feels different at first, but isn't a problem. We also like that they will save on the electric bill and hope they last as long as they say-cause the cfls we had didn't last as long as they were supposed to. If you enjoy the color of incandescents, you should buy the warm white instead of the daylight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 5000K bulb complements 2700K bulb for task at hand Living room lights hold two bulbs, so paired a 5000K bulb with 2700K bulb to accommodate the task at hand. Works great! Very satisfied. Also, pictured here is the Cree9.5-Watt A19 Warm White (2700K) purchased for bathroom and living room, and the EcoSmartBR30 9-Watt (65W) Soft White (2700K) LED Flood Light purchased for kitchen can lighting. Very satisfied, 2700K bulbs no different than incandescent lighting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bright Light - no Noise when dimmed with rheostat vs PWM I, too, like this bulb more than the predecessor ecosmart 40W and 60 W equivalents. I suspect that the reviewer who used a lamp with dimmer switch has a pwm (pulse width modulation) dimmer that maintains a constant voltage level with off intervals. PWM keeps incandescent bulbs from yellowing with lower voltage, but produces a flickering effect and can produce noise. A rheostat modulates voltage. A LED's circuitry is not subjected to the stresses of incessant on-off cycles with a rheostat. Also LED's produce more lumens per watt at the lower currents provided by voltage reduction while incandescent bulbs produce fewer lumens per watt at lower voltages. Thus, if this light is on the same rheostat with incandescent bulbs the incandescent bulbs will dim far more quickly and less efficiently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick Modification For A Different Look I use these LED bulbs in my outdoor light fixtures. The fixtures are lantern style with beveled clear glass. I modified the light bulb by carefully removing the exterior frosted bulb revealing the LED tower inside. Without the cover the LEDs are super bright and look very nice in my light fixtures. It is equivalent to using clear incandescent bulbs giving that super bright concentration of light and enhancing the look of the light fixtures. It would be nice if they manufactured these bulbs with a clear bulb exterior.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellant light output for the price I've been purchasing the "ecosmart" bulbs at Home Depot, but when I saw these at 20% less than the ecosmart bulbs I figured I'd put them in two new fixtures I was replacing in my basement office. I purchased 6 of these (If I knew the bulk packs existed I would have gotten that to save an additional $4). I like the "daylight" color temperature these put out, there is no buzzing, they are dimmable with a standard dimmer (although not as well as I'd like). I have a CFL/LED dimmer I'm going to try out and see if that fixes it. Basically they come on to about 25% and then full strength. The brightness from on to full is not very wide when compared to Incandescent bulbs. Overall I'll be purcasing more of these as I need to replace my bulbs and my supply of CFLs dwindles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Light Bulb A great bulb that saves money and does not get hot. I bought the Daylight Equivalent 5000K because I wanted clear, crisp light for reading and it works really well. Also, I noticed that the light bulb was Made In The USA. I've been trying to buy things made here to help our economy.
