If possible, always bring the existing lamp to Home Depot when seeking its replacement.

Make sure the bulb will physically fit and not interfere with or bind against lamp shades or the fan blades (crash!). If it doesn't fit, just take it back to the Home Depot. Most of their stores provide an excellent satisfaction policy, so if you have to, you can keep trying the options until you find one that works.
Most ceiling fans I've seen take the most common bulb base that this product provides--medium screw base--but a few require less common bases (candelabra) or exotic lamps (halogen), and in those situations, a medium screw base LED or CFL conversion will obviously not work. Read Less

I just called the Cree company for a warranty issue on one of these bulbs. They claim they are now discontinued by Cree; and they are sending me out a "4 flow" style as a replacement. Why is Home Depot still selling these ?

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 310 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 60W EQUIVALENT DAYLIGHT (5000K) A19 DIMMABLE LED LIGHT BULB The light bulbs are bright, a bit pricy but if they last as long as promised I will be very pleased. They are stronger than the typical light bulb. April 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by How Long Did Those 4/5 Star Reviewers Have Bulbs Before Providing Feedback? Asking because most people who gave the product 1 star offered a lifetime estimate of their failing bulbs. Adding to that list, I gave one a shot in my bedroom lamp and the light quality was great. It only lasted 6 months however with average use time. March 14, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Do not buy Cree LED light bulbs. They do not last. About 3 years ago I bought six 9 W Cree LED light bulbs for inside use. Over time, one by one failed. Yes, you can send them in and receive a replacement bulb. However, the replacement bulbs did not last longer. I gave up paying for mailing them back to the company and bought LED bulbs from a different manufacturer (Feit). No problem with the competitor's product. It was an expensive mistake to buy Cree LED light bulbs. February 20, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beware -- High Failure Rate I purchased 3 dozen or so of these Cree bulbs for installation within my new, energy-efficient home. Within a couple months of installation, half a dozen Cree bulbs had failed. They start flashing/flickering, then quit altogether. These bulbs were installed in very low-use areas (e.g., hallways and a storage room). When the bulbs worked, they had a nice, bright light. Cree's "warranty" is a joke. Defective bulbs must be returned to Cree HQ with the purchase receipt and the UPC from the original packaging. I had my HD purchase receipts on hand for the bulbs, but had not retained the UPC codes from the (long since discarded) packaging. I have purchased another 5 or 6 dozen TCP bulbs -- a little bit brighter, no center 'dark spot' like the Crees and significantly cheaper. Best of all is zero bulb failures after 18 months with the TCP bulbs. February 16, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Short life span Just like many other purchasers these bulbs fail to last. I bought 2 dozen to replace all the bulbs in the house. The man at Home Depot assured me that if they fail you simply return to the store. Not true at all. Many have failed and went back to Home Depot and they said contact the manufacturer. Who does that? Switching to Phillips and hope they are built to last because Cree is a FAILURE. Live and learn. With that many failures you know it is the manufacturer issue and not a simple bad bulb. Please avoid. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Failing Bulbs We had a new Energy Star Certified home built in 2013 and I decided to use the Cree 60w daylight bulbs in all of our light fixtures. The fact that these bulbs are assembled in the USA helped me decide on purchasing them. The energy savings has been incredible! One problem I am starting to notice is in the master bedroom and master bath the lights have started to turn completely off for a fraction of a second inn both rooms separate circuits. In the master bedroom I have one light that will go completely off. I had our electrical provider come out and check to make sure there was nothing loose at our main or in our breaker box. I also checked to make sure the bulb was tight enough. I guess I get to go through the process of returning the lights I am having trouble with. January 30, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not the best! Bought a bunch of these bulbs and I have had about 4 of them burnout already not even one year old . You should get a lot longer from them for the price you pay for them! February 14, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Failed in a year Sure "10 year warranty" let me find that receipt for a light bulb that I've been hoarding. What i think happen is the base and glass separate, letting moisture in,causing the LED to short circuit. Either im seeing moisture or the frosting in the glass fading away. February 8, 2016
