The light bulbs are bright, a bit pricy but if they last as long as promised I will be very pleased. They are stronger than the typical light bulb.

Asking because most people who gave the product 1 star offered a lifetime estimate of their failing bulbs. Adding to that list, I gave one a shot in my bedroom lamp and the light quality was great. It only lasted 6 months however with average use time.

About 3 years ago I bought six 9 W Cree LED light bulbs for inside use. Over time, one by one failed. Yes, you can send them in and receive a replacement bulb. However, the replacement bulbs did not last longer. I gave up paying for mailing them back to the company and bought LED bulbs from a different manufacturer (Feit). No problem with the competitor's product. It was an expensive mistake to buy Cree LED light bulbs.

Just like many other purchasers these bulbs fail to last. I bought 2 dozen to replace all the bulbs in the house. The man at Home Depot assured me that if they fail you simply return to the store. Not true at all. Many have failed and went back to Home Depot and they said contact the manufacturer. Who does that? Switching to Phillips and hope they are built to last because Cree is a FAILURE. Live and learn. With that many failures you know it is the manufacturer issue and not a simple bad bulb. Please avoid.

I purchased 3 dozen or so of these Cree bulbs for installation within my new, energy-efficient home. Within a couple months of installation, half a dozen Cree bulbs had failed. They start flashing/flickering, then quit altogether. These bulbs were installed in very low-use areas (e.g., hallways and a storage room). When the bulbs worked, they had a nice, bright light.
Cree's "warranty" is a joke. Defective bulbs must be returned to Cree HQ with the purchase receipt and the UPC from the original packaging. I had my HD purchase receipts on hand for the bulbs, but had not retained the UPC codes from the (long since discarded) packaging.
I have purchased another 5 or 6 dozen TCP bulbs -- a little bit brighter, no center 'dark spot' like the Crees and significantly cheaper. Best of all is zero bulb failures after 18 months with the TCP bulbs.

We had a new Energy Star Certified home built in 2013 and I decided to use the Cree 60w daylight bulbs in all of our light fixtures. The fact that these bulbs are assembled in the USA helped me decide on purchasing them. The energy savings has been incredible!
One problem I am starting to notice is in the master bedroom and master bath the lights have started to turn completely off for a fraction of a second inn both rooms separate circuits. In the master bedroom I have one light that will go completely off. I had our electrical provider come out and check to make sure there was nothing loose at our main or in our breaker box. I also checked to make sure the bulb was tight enough. I guess I get to go through the process of returning the lights I am having trouble with.

Bought a bunch of these bulbs and I have had about 4 of them burnout already not even one year old . You should get a lot longer from them for the price you pay for them!

Sure "10 year warranty" let me find that receipt for a light bulb that I've been hoarding.
What i think happen is the base and glass separate, letting moisture in,causing the LED to short circuit. Either im seeing moisture or the frosting in the glass fading away.
