The bulb provides a nice soft light at appropriate color temperature and rendering, however it will not last. The LEDs will last 50,000 hours, but the cheap components inside (capacitors, coils, resistors) will only last about 1500 hours. They begin to flicker and flash and then will not light. I have gone through 6, all purchased at the same time and all died within a few months of each other.

I purchased a total of four of these bulbs for use in a bathroom and a bedroom, with two bulbs in each location. They were fine for perhaps a year and a half, and then the bulbs started flickering. The flickering gradually grew more frequent, and then the bulbs started going out. In the end, after two years of service, three of the four bulbs were either flickering or dead. I'm not at all comfortable with a 75% failure rate over two years, particularly since the bulb has an expected minimum life of 10 years. As such, I would not recommend these bulbs to others; I have, in fact, had much better luck with other brands of LED bulbs and so do not purchase any "standard"-style Cree bulbs anymore. The Cree recessed lighting units I've purchased have been fine, apart from one that has a high-pitched hum, so I know not all Cree products are poor.

I've bought 24 of these Cree bulbs in 2014 for use throughout our house. They've gotten average use of a few hours a day each. Over the months, a stunning 15 of them have burned out. Total junk.

I've already written a review about Cree's three-way bulbs and this is just clarification that I will no longer purchase Cree products. I had the impression that Cree was going to "make America great again", but I see no evidence of that in their manufacture of LED bulbs. In the past two years, I have switched all my home lighting to LED, with a couple remaining fluorescent bulbs. Most of my LEDs are made by Cree, but I'm finding better quality in Phillips, now that the Cree bulbs are failing. I'm confident that these bulbs get no more use than the incandescent bulbs they replaced, but they're failing in just two years of use. The glass bulb of one of these bulbs just fell off the wall into the sink and shattered, though the base of the bulb is still screwed in and the LED lights are still working. To Cree's credit, at least they enclosed the bulb in rubber, which prevented glass shards from being strewn throughout my bathroom.

Quality good, but durability not at all. I have replaced those two with GE brand

Put this light bulb in our laundry room...didn't make it to one year. Pathetic...waste of money.
