I installed 7 of these bulbs a 1 1/2 years ago and have already had one failure. We'll see if Home Depot honors the 10 year warranty - I obviously don't have the receipt. If they do, then I'll change my recommendation to "yes".

Over the past 2 or so years we have purchased many of these bulbs. They are expensive, but hoped they would last and we would be saving on electricity. These things don't last nearly as long as a standard bulb, so its a total waste of money. My wife contacted Cree who asked her to send in the bad bulbs for replacement, which she did. It's many months later and we never heard anything back. I will never buy another Cree bulb again. I love Home Depot, but really dislike this product!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ScooterG65 Nice, but still flawed.
I really hoped these would be true replacements for my incandescent bulbs. Sadly, my search continues...
Pros: No startup delay. Good 2700K color.
Cons: Slightly longer than incandescent bulbs, so they extend further out of my pendant fixtures. Safety coating is sticky and seems to attract small particles. Less light output at tip of bulb than sides. Buzzes softly for several minutes upon startup, enough to notice and annoying when you have to speak over it. Flickers alot due to sensitivity to circuit fluctuations (almost every opening of our refrigerator door causes a flicker).
I have tried 2 other brands and these come in 2nd behind a competitors bulb.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by ssc multiple early burnouts
Installed a variety of LED bulbs throughout a new house completed in 2013. We are experiencing too many (half a dozen so far) early failures of these CREE bulbs. We have a whole-house surge protector, and this is the only LED bulb to-date that has been burning out.

I bought about 10 of these thinking that the long life and energy savings would offset the high price. I was SO wrong! 6 have failed after less than a year and a half. Home Depot only offers a 1 cent refund on them because the style has been discontinued (duh) and I only saved the box they came in, not the receipt!
On three of them the glass fell off and the others just quit working. Stay away from this brand!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sparky Perfect So Far
These bulbs have been perfect so far. I've used them for approximately one year at an average of 8 hours per day. That's already 2920 hours and none of them have burned out. Using only 9.5 watts each has already shown a reduction on my electricity bill. These bulbs are also assembled in the U.S.A. which I always try to support. Use the "Daylight" (5000K) if you want white light or use the "soft white" (2700K) if you want yellowish light.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Argon532 Stop searching: This is the A19 LED to get
Length of ownership: 6 months
Total bulbs: 132
Failures or defects: none
Setting: outdoor (went down to -40 with windchill) and also indoor bulbs
Fixtures: mix of completely enclosed (no air circulation) and open
Power consumption: Between 9.8 Watt for heavy use area (over 750 hours so far) and 11.4 Watt for rarely used bulb (19 hours)
Quality of light: Same as incandescent (2700K), I can't tell a difference
Performance: Instant on, equal brightness or maybe slightly better than a 60W incandescent
Omnidirectional? Yes, see pictures.
Dimming: down to ~2% with adaptive phase Control4 dimmer (see picture)
Noise: none even with full dimming
Flicker: none at any dimming level
Issues: you cannot go from 0% light to 2% light. You can go directly to 5%. To dim to 2%, you must go >5% and dim down from there.
