Customer Questions & Answers

Can you use these lightbulbs in outdoor motion sensor fixtures? I need these for my backyard and over my garage.

Asked by: Mimi
Mine works with sensor.

Can a higher watt be used

Asked by: leon
I think a higher wattage could be used if it was available. There are 90 watt equivalent spot lights, but they might not fit the fixture plus some led bulbs tell you not to put them in recessed fixtures.

Is this lamp emiting RF that will disturb my FM radio

I just replaced my old bulb by an LED day light bulb, and I cannot get a clear FM radio sound anymore
Asked by: JoDallas
I cannot detect any RF from this bulb (model # BBR30-06550FLF-12DE26-2U100) using my ipod with earbud (cord acting as the antenna). I walked around under this light bulb with it both off and on and get a little interference from other sources, but no difference between off and on that seems to relate at all to any RF coming from the bulb. I hope this helps.

What is a reliable dimmer switch that will work well with the 65W Light Bulb when used in a circuit of three sockets?

Asked by: Anonymous
Believe it'll be the dimmer switch's limitation since the led bulbs work as replacement of incandescent bulbs. You'll probably need to get a dimmer which will work with LED.

Customer Reviews

65W Equivalent Daylight (5,000K) BR30 Dimmable LED Floodlight Bulbs (4-Pack) is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 164.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from High Failure Rate - Do Not Buy I purchased 5 of these bulbs for my kitchen a year and a half ago and 2 have stopped working. One died completely and one started flickering like an old florescent bulb. Home depot offered me 10% off a replacement and Cree needs the original proof or purchase, a receipt, and you have to mail it to them for any kind of warranty. Why waste your money on led if it last less than 2 years and cost 10 times as much. Buy something other than CREE.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unreliable quality We have purchased Cree LED lightbulbs several times in the past 2 years and have had at 3 or 4 of them fail six to twelve months after purchase. First the bulb will blink after being turned on for a period of time, then the blinking starts to take longer to resolve until the bulb finally fails completely. These replacement bulbs were installed in fixtures less than 10 years old that continue to work fine with new bulbs. Of course there are warranties and guarantees, but I'm not going to save packaging and receipts for lightbulbs that are supposed to last 10 years. DO NOT BUY CREE LED LIGHT BULBS

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Burn out, do not buy Purchased 18 of these 18 months ago for installation in a new house we were completing. These were a test case to see how they last, with the intention of replacing 30 regular incandescent bulbs in other recessed can lights. Really like the light from these bulbs, and can understand all the positive reviews from people that just purchased the bulbs. But,,,,,, DO NOT pay attention to the good reviews unless you are okay with replacing bulbs every year or so. We had 3-4 bulbs fail within the first few months and were able to return and exchange them at our local store - thanks Home Depot. And now, within the last three weeks 4 more have burnt out, so expect a lot more failures shortly. Unfortunately, since we bought all these while moving into our new house and acting as the general contractor, rushing to get things finished, we misplaced the paperwork and don't have what we need to return these to Cree. If you have one that works for a short time, great light and you will probably like it. But for the cost is really should last 5-10 years, and no way that will happen based on our experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are cool white. Retail store only had warm white model In general, with 120 volt AC bulbs, I believe the LEDs will last a long time if the bulb has adequate ventilation, but not so sure about the drivers that are needed to change AC to DC and lower the voltage, So I really appreciate the ten year warranty on these CREE bulbs! It really stands out compared to other brands. I am paying more for LEDs so I want to see them last. Also Cree is an American company and these are made in the US! They work well so far. Plenty of Lumens, 5000 K cool white, wide angle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT Product! I purchased 8 of these for our recessed fixtures in 9 ft ceilings. We have to replace these with a TALL ladder. I tried the fluorescent bulbs of this type when they came out & HATED them. They weren't very bright & turned a reddish color. These bulbs are very bright, easy to just screw in unlike other led indoor floods. I write the date I install bulbs in permanent marker on the base of the bulb when I install them so we will see how long these really last but I am VERY satisfied with these bulbs now. The price is expensive but in line with what others of this type are selling for. ALSO the easy opening packaging was a delightful surprise!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, performs well be careful of dimmers These lights install and function just as good and better that a regular incandescent light. I like how they are made more secure with a rubberized coating around the glass part of the bulb. If I did my math right, these lights will pay for themselves in about three years on the savings from electricity alone. These lights will flicker or shimmer with certain dimmers set at the lower light levels, even dimmers that are made for LED lights. I am still trying to find a dimmer that causes the lights to be steady at the lower light levels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I think these LED lights are great. What do i like best is it the bright white light or the fact that there is little heat to the bulb. You can put your hand on them after they have been on for a long time and feel almost no heat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cree 5000K BR 30 Dimmable LED Flood Light Just installed these in my 7 kitchen cans. The previous halogens were too hot in our standard height ceiling so I wanted to go LED. Tried the 2700K however it gave the medium brown kitchen cabinets a hideous yellow look to them. These LEDs are very bright and are have a more florescent look but the brown cabinets help tone things down. These lights do reveal the true color of the cabinets which I'd describe as fawn brown. Also tried these in the dining area with an antique white table/chairs (brown top/seats) next to white vertical blinds. Way too harsh and extremely florescent looking. Then tried the 2700K but again were too yellow. Went back in that area with the GE Reveal bulbs. Overall, a good product. Dims well. Proud to purchase American too!
