Customer Questions & Answers

Can this light be used in a fixture that has warnings "to use a 60 Watt light bulb or lower" ?!?

Asked by: Dabargler
Yes it can. This bulb is a 75 watt "equivalent" bulb. It only uses 13.5 watts, so it is well below the 60 watt limit.

Can this be used in a bathroom exhaust fan?

Asked by: Mike
Yes, but choose another brand. Cree bulbs are known to fail.

Can Cree 75watt daylight A19 be used in an enclosed fixture?

Asked by: Buffalo
The package says, "Do not use in multi-bulb enclosed fixtures together with other bulb technologies (e.g.incandescent, halogen, CFL, etc.)." I didn't know this until I received my order in the mail. The problem with my ceiling fixture is that the bulb rests on the glass cover, so I am not using them in that enclosed fixture. I have other more important light fixtures that are not enclosed, so I am still able to use the bulbs there, and I'm very happy with them. I am shopping for another ceiling light fixture to be on the safe side. Other 75W LED 5000K bulbs from other companies say that they can't be used in enclosed fixtures. You probably need to contact the company.

Can this be used in a lamp that says it needs a Type "A" 3-Way bulb (MAX 100W)?

Asked by: jess
Yes, but choose another brand. These are poor quality LED bulbs that fail much quicker than expected.

75W Equivalent Daylight A19 Dimmable LED Light Bulb is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 133.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted about one year I bought six Cree LED bulbs for outside my house. They are turned on about eight hours per day on average - mostly during the long winter months and much less during long summer days. After a bit over a year I have observed the third failure. A 50% failure rate for a $10 product in a bit over a year. The whole point of buying these bulbs was so that I wouldn't need to change the outside bulbs every year or so. LED isn't up to the reliability of incandescents or fluorescents. I'm going back to old technology.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't Last I bought a few of these bulbs when I first bought my house a couple of years ago, expecting they would last as long if not longer than a normal incandescent/CFL because the fancy guarantee on the box made me feel all warm and toasty inside. Unfortunately, my bulbs went, and it will probably cost me more to ship the bulb with the receipt than it would cost me to go buy a new bulb from another company.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked for 3 months I replaced all my family room and kitchen bulbs with the cree 75 and though I had made a great purchase. Lat week 2 or the lights started flickering and caused real reading and concentration problems. I unfortunately did not keep the receipts for the product and now have to pay for some replacement bulbs (NOT CREE) for the 2 bad bulbs. I will never buy from any Cree products again.

Bought this as a replacement for an identical bulb purchased less than 2 yrs ago. Decided to give the product a 2nd chance. But it's supposed to last much longer and will be seriously disappointed if this one doesn't last the full life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cree 75W I purchased two bulbs a few months ago. I thought I would be all set for a few years. One of my bulbs has burned out. already. The second one is flickering. Expensive Junk! Unfortunately I don't have the receipt anymore.

I'm very happy that I can get bright, accurate color in my art studio with these 5000K bulbs. I use these bulbs in the swing-arm light fixtures over my art table. I can even take pictures of my art under these lights when the weather outdoors is bad, or it is nighttime. I tested these bulbs with my camera, taking pictures of my art on the table. I was able to get almost perfect color with my SLR camera. I don't remember which white balance setting I used, but the results were very good. For perfect light, I take my art outdoors and set it on the ground. The 5000K is why they work in my art studio. The only thing I don't like is that these bulbs cannot be used in enclosed fixtures. Now I have to shop for a ceiling fixture that looks good but is not enclosed.

We first purchased these bulbs as a replacement for incandescent bulbs used in our motion-sensing driveway lights. The lights turn on when people are walking on the sidewalk or cars drive by. They only turn on after dusk and before dawn. What we found is that these bulbs consistently stop functioning under these conditions between 3-4 weeks. As a note, we gave this product, not just 2 but, 4 chances before changing to another brand. With everything that was going wrong with these bulbs we began to think that it was the light housing and not the bulbs considering that the bulbs were brand new but our concerns were assuaged when we finally decided to purchase another brand. As another had posted, it's more of a hassle to deal with a manufacturer's warranty than to replace the item with a more competent manufacturer. The other brand has been going strong ever since and it’s been about 19 months. Bottom line: DON’T BUY CREE LED BULBS.

The light is just way too white and looks terrible in a small area. They would probably be good for outside use, but with the high price I'm sure you could find some just as good for less. I will use these somewhere, but would not order them again.
