THE PACKAGE SAYS DIMMABLE
After about 5 minutes into the dimming setting, I had a problem with the bulb. Blinked on and off until I changed the level. Did it again, to no avail. Switched out the bulb with another, same wattage etc. same results. I had this fixture on a dimmer, Lutron Diva C+L 3 way. Called Lutron and they told me they had issues with this bulb on a Diva dimmer. I tried a Sylvania same wattage, works like a champ!
Maybe it's not the bulb, maybe it's Lutron Dimmer problem. They said they had a list of bulbs that were not working well with this Diva C+L 3 way dimmer. Could not locate the "List" on there website. Buyer beware

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Froggie Suitable for outdoor fixtures too.
I started using the CREE 75W equivalent bulbs in outdoor fixtures as the 60W versions just weren't quite bright enough. BTW, there is now available a 100W eq. version too. Instant on in any weather, and warm incandescent color looks welcoming. It's consumption of 1/4 the energy is a plus also as these sconces, posts, and walk fixtures are on from dusk until dawn for security. Compatible with timers and photocells and dimmers, these CREE units do not have the initial surge that fluorescents do, that can damage these automatic devices instantly, or over time. I am hoping these bulbs last as long as predicted, as they will save time and effort relamping. Some of my fixtures are difficult to reach easily. The 60's and 40's I have installed inside my home are performing well now in the second year, they have replaced fluorescents and the remainder of incandescents perfectly, and with no mercury inside like fluorescents do. The cost has dropped with subsidy by Duke power here in NC. and the assembly is done here in Durham, creating jobs in the USA not CHINA. That alone would make me try these, but with all the other attributes, it's a no brainer to replace all one's lighting now and start saving on energy, I can see it on my bills already.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RaleighGuy Bought 2 today
Needed more lumens for my poker room and removed some cree 60 watt bulbs(I'll find another place for those) and replaced them with 75 watt equiv. Seem bright enough. The base is larger and thicker, but the bulbs are very similar to the 40 and 60watt from cree. only knock is the price...46$ for 2....not a decision based on saving a bunch of $$ on energy...was a decision based on having superior light with no mercury and instant brightness....i hope the prices eventually come down..but the bulb is fantastic...i have 50-60 cree bulbs in the house overall and i recommend anyone install these bulbs...particularly where changing bulbs is difficult. these supposedly last 10+ years.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tech Cree light bulbs are great.
After trying many types of energy efficient light bulbs, I have to say Cree has nailed it with this light bulb. At about $13.00 each, they are expensive, but I think their price will come down as they sell more. It is bright, efficient, dimmable, instantly bright, and produces an undistinguishable light from an incandescent bulb. Be sure and purchase the ones with the word “LED” written in yellow. That represents the light that closely matches incandescent bulbs. The one written in blue does not look like traditional bulbs, but they have their own appeal in some situations. I have both the 60 watt and 75 watt bulbs. They are superior in every way, except initial price, to compact fluorescents and incandescent bulbs but if they last as long as expected they will be a great value in the long run. I plan to only purchase Cree bulbs from now on. Way to go Cree. I don’t know who you are but you have it going on.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Henry Great Lamp, Accurate Color, Excellent Warranty.
This is a nearly perfect replacement for a 75W incandescent lamp in almost every way. Much like the other CREE LED's there is a small dark circle at the top of the lamp caused by a blank spot in the LED filament tower. This is only an issue if you are directly exposed to the top of the lamp such as in ceiling fan down lights. It however is very minor and doesn't affect the evenness of the light it provides. I am fairly certain the previous reviewer of this lamp was reviewing the 5000k daylight version under the 2700k soft white since it is nearly impossible to distinguish this lamp from a traditional incandescent equivalent. My only complaint is this lamp is dramatically more expensive than the 60W version for only 300 more lumens. Even the CREE 60W TW series (which is basically the same lamp with different glass) costs less. Hopefully the price will come down soon. I pretty much exclusively recommend CREE LED's to everyone. No other product on the market today can beat CREE's appearance, quality, warranty and price. Furthermore, CREE is a well respected LED manufacturer and likely is the diode supplier to many competing LED's on the market today. Cut out the middle man and go with the CREE.
