Rated 5 out of 5Â by RJJ21 Excellent replacement for standard BR30
This product is the daylight version and its color output is significantly different from a soft white bulb. I do not recommend this for general indoor use and it should not be used next to a soft white as it will stand out. It is however, perfect for work areas where you want a bright light output. This bulb produced light equivalent in brightness to my Feit 75W standard bulb. The neck of the Cree bulb is larger than a standard bulb so if you have a narrow opening to the socket this might not fit. Bulb is cool to the touch and has a rubberized texture that makes it easy to install without dropping. With a power draw one tenth of the standard bulb I expect to see savings over the lifetime of the bulb.

Installing this is as easy as changing a lightbulb. It screws in just like any other light bulb, and you are done!
The front of the light as a slight rubbery feel to it which feels different to other lights.
I installed it in the recessed lighting in a bathroom. I like the idea of using low real wattage lamps in such places. The 5000K light is very nice in the bathroom and it produces plenty of light.
I look forward to saving electricity with this.

The LED bulbs really are like daylight. The light is very white yet while seemingly being brighter and giving off a whiter light and using less electricity. It makes the regular floodlights seem yellow as seen in the picture. The yellow glow to the left is the regular floodlight!

At first glance, 4 light bulbs for $70 sounds ridiculous. However, these bulbs transformed my kitchen. I have 8 recessed lights in the working area of my kitchen. The four on the left were replaced with the Cree 9.5W (65W equiv) Daylight BR30 bulbs. The difference in the left and right sides of my kitchen is amazing! Gone is the dim, soft, incandescent lighting. Now my kitchen is bright, even at night. Love it, love it, love it. Getting ready to order another four for the right side. Then I'll replace my bathroom lighting also. Spend the money - it's worth it.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by esandoval1 Nice lamp from a well respected manufacturer.
CREE is, IMHO, one of the best manufacturers of LED lamps which is the main reason I purchased four of the Soft White variety of this bulb. Some one earlier commented incorrectly that these bulbs have a ten year life expectancy--these bulbs have a ten year warranty and a life expectancy of more than 22 years with 3 hrs per day use.
Rating is only good because you cannot give a true review for some time down the road, but I do expect that they will be excellent in the long run.
Only negative I have noticed is the thin rubber shatter resistance coating on the outside of the bulb. The coating made it impossible for me to use my current bulb change pole to install these lamps, which created a real headache since I have twenty-foot ceilings in our Great Room.
