Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dick PAR38, 27 degree LED lamp
This lamp was the perfect solution to replacing lamps in the ceiling of my church. The ceiling is pyramid shape and the lighting fixtures are mounted on the ceiling and very difficult to replace without a bucket lift. The long life, proper color temperature & 27 degree beam angle make this lamp perfect for this application. It, not only, saved us the cost of renting a lift but, also, reduced the cost of lighting the church.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mark Very good
I took out 23w warm white cfl floodlights and metal halide lights, this 18 watt spot has better color rendition, a whiter more pleasing light, and is brighter than the Cfls. A winner.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by POed No lights - after 2 weeks of use
I bought this about two weeks ago. Have used several 60 watt equivalents from Cree and have been pleased so I wanted to continue my replacements. This worked for about two weeks. A couple of times it mysteriously went dark but turning it off/on resolved that until today. Turned off to change something else in the outlet, turnrd on to find it dead. Came here to find out about warranty. No, I didn't save my sales slip to prove that it should still be in warranty for a product that's only been on the market a matter of months. Super.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by redrket Why are they burning out so quick?
The first one I bought has lasted since I purchased it two months ago. Unfortunately I've had to replace three bulbs already in another fixture where they don't last for more than a week! I don't know why they are burning out so fast since it's the same type three-way fixture as the other one that has lasted. Anyone know why?

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Darkman Does not fit torchiere lamps
I bought a very nice 3-way torchiere lamp, partly because I'd already seen that 3-way CFL bulbs had become available. I love the way torchiere lamps illuminate a room, but I'd been hoping to find an alternative to the 300W halogen lamps I'd been using. The base of the CFL bulb turned out to be wider than the opening around the socket, so I had to return that bulb and use a traditional incandecent 3-way.
I was very excited to see that Cree had introduced an LED 3-way, since I much prefer LED bulbs over CFL bulbs. However, this bulb is also too wide at the base to fit in my lamp. There are socket extenders which would partly solve the problem, but none of those currently available are compatible with 3-way bulbs. My research online has shown me that I'm not the only person (by far) to have this problem, and that no manufacturer has stepped up to solve it.
Cree, please make me the part I need to be able to use your wonderful bulb!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Jim In San Diego It burned out in 6 days.
I took delivery of this bulb 6 days ago and it already is non functional and will not light. The lamp is fine since the old incandescent bulb works in it. To say the least, I am disappointed.
