Customer Questions & Answers

Is this wrench made in USA?

Asked by: hockey
This particular model, AC215VS, is not listed as "made in the USA" therefore is probably not. You can check models at http://www.apextoolgroup.com/brands/crescent to see which specific models are USA made. Those that are made in the USA clearly state such.

15 in. Adjustable Wrench is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Very Light Duty Wrench I bought this tool to remove an old leaky valve on a cast Iron radiator. Under heavy torque it adjustable part of the jaws would slip out. The forging of the steel is poor and it showed deformation. I would only recommend this for very light duty construction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a Wrench! RE: 18-inch Crescent Adjustable Wrench This appears to be a durable adjustable wrench. Very heavy. Large knurl has a smooth action. Wrench has a textured handle for easy gripping. I used it straight out the box to remove a ball hitch from a receiver. It broke the bolt loose with little effort. This is a good wrench to have for those heavy duty jobs. I recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As tough as they come The Crescent 18 in. adjustable wrench is built to handle just about any nut, up to two and a quarter inch. Heavy duty, forged alloy steel for strength and precision machined jaw surfaces for good grip, make it feel as solid as you'd expect a one piece, open end wrench.to feel. Handling 2 in. nuts may not be a part of daily routine for many, but it sure is good to have a reliable tool on hand when you need it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent value and quality for a home user Out of the package, these pliers seem to be of decent value and quality. Chrome finish appears to be good and jaw adjustment is easy with the thumb using one hand. Jaws do have a little slop to them though and are not as good when they previously were made in the USA and now China. In use, these pliers seem to hold up to moderate use but if using for a high torque application, then upgrading to a fixed wrench or socket will be needed to avoid break these pliers. For home use, these should do fine. For tradesman use, I would invest in a little better quality adjustable that holds to a tighter tolerance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good solid heavy duty wrench. This is a well made heavy duty adjustable wrench. The jaws adjust smoothly and hold firmly with no play or give when tightened on a bolt or nut. It is a good size for larger nuts or bolts and is easy to grip with the hands. It is very well constructed and should last for many years. If you need a heavy duty adjustable wrench at a reasonable price I would recommend this wrench without question.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Man's wrench This is not a wrench to adjust your watch with. If you got a tough nut, this will crack it. Very good quality, finish on the Jaws with a smooth action and no free play on the jaw when adjusting it. I have some adjustable wrenches that are either very difficult to adjust or too loose. The taper on the end is great for when I need extra leverage I can slide a pipe on the end. This will be one workhorse of a wrench. What I like best is the laser etched scale on the side indicates the setting of the jaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets the Job Done Functionally this wrench works fine. It's rated for 2-7/16, but mine opens to 2-9/16, it will grab a full 2-1/2 bolt. The laser-etched size markings are surprisingly accurate, but they are really hard to read. The numbers are tiny and there's no contrast, you have to kind of angle the wrench in the light to see it. The handle is tapered and comfortable with gloved hands. The taper allows you to use a 1-1/2 inch pipe as a breaker; a 2" x .120 wall tube also fits. The adjustment screw uses buttress threads, and it turns smoothly. Jaws are square and straight, overall machining is good. The unfinished surfaces are a bit rough in places. The packaging indicates that it is made in China, but there are no markings on the tool itself indicating country of origin. Regardless, it works well and gets the job done.
