Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mike great utility tool
I got this cutter as an indulgent tool purchase, had a home project that I thought it would be helpful for, but could have worked it out with a utility knife.
Saw it while getting other stuff, and splurged. (they no longer sell it in store, only online)
This cutter has become one of my most valuable, go to tool that I have. It just seems to be always needed in one way or another, no matter what I'm doing.
The blades are sharp, cuts super clean, and because there is some sort of lever design at the head, your squeezing strength is magnified and every cut is done without much effort.
The grip is just about perfect, fits in your hand like a glove.
Here is the deal, I lost my original one, and really realized how much I needed and liked this tool.
So I went online and got three more, just in case ....

I bought one of these but couldn't remember where. I searched the internet and found I could order them through Home Depot. I went to their store and had them order it into the store...ie...free freight. Home Depot performed beautifully as they have on other products I've ordered through them. These pliers are spring loaded. The reason I needed a second pair is because I let my wife use mine and she wanted them!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Arman Broke after 3 months. ...
I'm a low-voltage contractor and I'm using this cutter to cut mostly wires and sometimes small screws. During past six years I bought 5 of this cutters and 2 of them got broken after several months. Overall this one was the best cutter I ever had and it's very sharp, but they need to make some improvements on the material quality.

I've had these pliers for about 1 year. I am a homeowner and only use the pliers occasionally (maybe 2-3 times per month). I was trimming a small bolt that was too long and the pliers broke. The break revealed the poor quality steel. I'm surprised because I've always considered Crescent to be high-quality tools. This one is not high-quality.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by sircody I use them to cut Framing Nails
I use them to snap off nails in my lumber that i recycle.....all sizes....even huge nails from real 2 x 4s that were hand driven in framing from the 1950's....
Only issue i have with this series is the lock...it is either on the wrong side or it's easy for the lock to catch while using them...
Hey COOPER/CRESCENT, fix this issue....and small problem of the handles spreading too open if you put them down or drop them unlocked....
this causes the spring to break,
Make Replacement spreader springs!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cut mails, plastic, ductwork, you name it...even the spring broken pair cuts like a hot knife for me....Bought them 2009 i think...and i didn't pay this much for them
