Product Overview

These toggle bolts are anchors for use in hollow walls and hollow masonry applications. The toggle bolt's wing spreads the force over a larger load bearing surface and comes attached to a machine screw. Toggle bolts are single-use anchors and should be properly positioned prior to pre-drilling the hole.

Everyone wants to sell mushroom or round head toggle bolt anchors. I am doing a repair job ( on something that was done wrong to begin with ) in a bathroom ( towel rack ) and because of the way that the towel rack is designed, I need to use flat head screws ( so that the mounting plate sets flush against the drywall when completed ) I have tried at least 3 different types of anchors, and I guess that they would have worked, but I don't want the towel rack to move at all ( either now or later ) And, I don't want to make the drywall holes any bigger, or have anymore drywall damage. My first thought was to patch up the drywall, sand, repaint. Then, use a new location ( preferably on studs behind the drywall ) But, I don't have all those tools and paint, and I am a renter to begin with. I am just helping the landlord ( who lives out of State ) who would have to hire someone to fix it.

Answer:
You could replace the mushroom head screws with flat-head screws purchased separately. In this case you would need to purchase 3/16 in. diameter x 3 in. length screws.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bathroom Necessity They are worth the price if you really want your towel racks to stay in place. Save yourself some time and dry wall patches and just install these the first time around when you are installing your racks. You won't regret it. June 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worked great in my garage. I used these toggle bolts to secure PVC conduit to my garage wall and it worked great. I originally tried plastic drywall anchors and they kept pulling out. May 16, 2014
