Questions & Answers

Where can I get the wood screw that goes through the hole and attaches the mirror to the surface before this cover is then put into place?

We need someone that understands how this thing is used. It is one of a 2 part assembly. There is a wood screw available in different lengths that has been drilled and threaded in the head or slot where you put the screwdriver. You use the appropriate screw for your application and secure the mirror to the surface. This little cap then threads into the hole in head of the aforementioned screw and hides the screw. If you google "tapped wood screw" you can find them available (C.R. L.....) or DK H..... but you have to buy them in quantity of 100 for $100+ dollars. These online screws also are tapped #3 48. The stud on this item is according the one answer #4 40 X 3/8 Both of the other questions are asking.....where can you buy less than 100 of the wood screw, with the correct tapped hole to accompany this piece? Further what is the point of Home Depot selling this screw cover without selling the necessary mounting screw that accompanies it? A little common sense will tell you that previous answers cannot be correct......this item reportedly has a #4 screw 3/8 long (machine thread) how can you use it to mount a 1/4 inch thick piece of glass???? What do you think.....drill a hole in the glass then thread this thing through the glass and expect the 1/8 inch of machine screw to magically hold into the wood behind???? Now if you drill the holes in the glass, attach the glass to the wall with the tapped wood screws described above, then screw these covers on to hide, (or cover) the screw......then you have something!!!! Got it now????

Where can I get the 3/4 inch screws that this screws in to?

I think that this is the same question asked previously but the answer only described the stud on the cap, not the wood screw this screws into.
Asked by: PJ
There rosette itself has the threaded portion attached so there is no need for an additional screw.
