Product Overview

These lead shields are circular, hollow, metal anchors with a slit down each side. When in place, the shield bows at the sides when the screw is installed. The outer surface is ribbed to resist coming out of the drilled hole. They can be used in solid or hollow walls and resist temperature fluctuations well. Use with compatible lag screw or wood screw.

Which walls do these work on?

This question is from #6-8 x 1-1/2 in. Plain Lead Shields with Screws (4-Pack)

The unit I'd like to use these anchors in has two types of walls:

-Hollow, drywall
-Solid, brick and plaster

The production information for these anchors states:

"They can be used in solid or hollow walls and resist temperature fluctuations well."

Does this mean they should safely work in either wall type? I'm trying to hang a 48lb mirror.

Thanks,

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Just what I needed...but took 2 weeks to receive Perfect product for anchoring a flag pole mount into brick on my house. I had to order these online because the person helping me had zero clue at the store what I was talking about and was very rude and condescending to me. The online web site claimed 5 were in stock, but amazingly enough, none were supposedly at the store. I had to order these online, and it took nearly two weeks to get them...that should not happen. It troubles me to shop in person when customer service is lacking. Hopefully Home Depot will work on those issues. March 15, 2016
