Customer Questions & Answers

Is this shower rod fixed or tension? The description lists it as tension but the specifications detail wall brackets.

Asked by: Elaine
The width is fixed but the length is tension from approx. 45 up to approx. 72. You mount it to wall on the width side with screws.

is this shower curtain rod rust proof

if not, is there a different product with similar specs that you would recommend
Asked by: diy9
Technically yes it is rust resistance, under normal condition but i would not expect it to last more than a couple of years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from bad choice The very first week was falling. It is not a good idea to have a L shaped rod it's garbage after a few weeks.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product was damaged on arrival and was returned to store. The L-shaped shower curtain rod was very cheeply made for the price - $45. The end caps were made of plastic - which would have lasted about a month, if that, of use, and the rod was very light weight aluminum. I would have been replacing it in about a month or two, so it was not worth having at all. I did order another L-shaped rod for about $85 that's made from heavier metal. I hope this one works.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap, Poor Quality and Tacky I bought this curtain rod to replace the original rod from the 1950s. When I opened the package, I found the rod’s diameter was really small. But worse, the two sections of the rod were joined by a plastic L shape piece that was visible between the two sections. So you saw the plastic joiner when it was installed. I was shocked at the tackiness of this product. So I cleaned off my 50 year old rod and used it again. Last time I will ever order from the Home Depot website for a product when the appearance is really important.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Inexpensive and kind of functional OK here is MY opinion. It is very inexpensive for a reason... You get what you pay for. This will do a basic job. The job is to hold up a shower curtain. Pros: It is customizable, if you have the proper equipment, a pipe cutter, I would NOT recommend a hack saw. Connectors come apart very easily and allow you to put the curtain on. Cons: I would not expect this product to last through a family normal use. Definitely not more than a year or two at most. You have to use very light weight shower curtains as I found that a vinyl or plastic types are much too heavy. Connectors come apart very easily.
