Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I had to return the shower chair I had been dependent on an armless stool for some time but I purchased this chair because I needed the arms to help myself get out of the chair. I am a large woman so I ordered a chair that was rated to handle a lot of weight. This chair claims to be able to handle up to 500 pounds. I do not weigh anywhere close to 500 pounds, so I figured this was going to be a nice large roomy chair for me. Not so. The seat was too small for my fanny. When I stood, the arms hugged me and the entire stool stood with me. Furthermore, the depth of the seat was inadequate, giving me the feeling of instability while sitting on the stool. I had my husband disassemble it and I took it back. This chair would have been useless to me. June 3, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by For a heavyweight chair it seems very small I bought this for my mother since she needed a chair with arms. We purchased it because it said it holds up to 420 pounds so we figured it would have to be very stable even though she doesn't weigh that. While it does seem very stable, it took a little while to assemble and the seat looks small. My mother said there is not a lot of room. I do not think it would be roomy enough for a 420 pd person. She would prefer a wider seat, it is sturdy and the height is nice. December 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A good safety addition for my elderly relative's bathroom This was just the right size for my mother-in-law's narrow bathtub. The higher adjustable height of the seat was just right for her due to the difficulty she has standing up when a seat is too low. The assembly directions were not that great according to my husband but he figured them out. Also, the fit of two pieces was a bit difficult to manage but, again, it was figured out. My mother-in-law and her home health aide really like how this adds safety to her showering. June 19, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for my elderly mother I bought the chair for my 90-year-old mother and I think it’s perfect. It’s just the right size for her and is very easy to move. The arms are just right and add a lot of stability. I was pleasantly surprised that the height could be adjusted so easily (the buttons were easy to push and the legs slid easily). She loves it. I had a small problem putting it together (one of the instructions omitted “take the plastic caps off before inserting arms into underside of chair”) and I could not figure out how to get the arms installed. But I purposely purchased it from Home Depot because I figured if there was a problem I could stop by one of the stores and get some help. And it turned out to be a good plan – Gordon at the Sports Arena store in San Diego was able to help me finish putting the chair together. FYI – my mother has a large walk-in shower (4’ x 4’). Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This product was exactly what we needed This shower chair has all the features we needed, including arms so that my husband can lift and lower himself more easily. It is sturdy, but lightweight. We paid a little more than we had planned, but it was well worth the investment. February 22, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Terrific Height is perfect! Very stable. The only thing amiss is that the shower stall is far too small. April 16, 2013
