Rated 5 out of 5Â by Farmall45 Great machine - buy this tiller
Did the research, put hands on several machines, read reviews, watched every "youtube" I could find and talked to people who own a Cub Cadet RT 65
Had issue starting machine first time and discovered plug gap was restricted with "gum" like substance. Cleared the "gum" and machine started. Used about 5 hours, no trouble. Shifting improved with use.
Clean up is super easy. The removable side shields are great idea.
I did notice some of the "tines" were loose. So I would recommend checking all nuts and bolts after first use
I wanted a rear tine tiller for a long time. I feel for the money this is an excellent machine

Rated 1 out of 5Â by DesignFlaw Poor bearing design
I purchased this model and it ran fine for the first couple of years. But then the rear bearing spun in the housing and ruined the entire case. It would cost almost as much as a new machine just for parts. Very poor design - I will never buy another because the main case contains everything, and if something happens to it you have to throw away the machine. The engine ran great, but for the hours I got out of it, it could have been a cheaper engine.

The engine is a powerful beast, very impressive. Overall quality is fine. Our problem was that the machine is top-heavy. When I bought the tiller I noted the heavy block mounted on the front, obviously to lower the center of gravity. However, the tiller still tended to roll over when used, which was understandable when using on rough terrain, but it rolled even when used on flat ground. And the tiller was very heavy to return upright. So I will stay with the small, high-speed tillers that we have used for years. I like Cub, but this tiller just did not fill our needs.
