Hello Toolbox-42. The 19 in. Corded Electric Mower is indeed a 12 amp corded mower and not a 48 amp mower. Thank you for your question.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by missing When something is wrong straight out of the box, it is a bad sign. The starter cable was disengaged and after speaking to a representative, it appears to have been defective. Also, there was a loose screw rolling around in the box that was not mentioned in the operator's manual. I read that happened to another customer in one of the negative reviews. In other words, something came loose. It's a shame that merchandise does not go through quality inspection before shipping. I plan to return the item and do not plan to order again with such bad omens from this experience. April 16, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Returned I ended up returning this product for a couple of reasons: 1- My yard is too big for this mower. I really should've bought a rider from the start. 2- It just stopped working the other day. Good thing Home Depot has a 90-day return policy. No questions asked! 3- With a gas engine, I can at least troubleshoot the problem. With an enclosed electic motor, there was nothing I could do when it just died in the middle of mowing my lawn. The mower may have died because I was pushing it too hard. It was taking me 2+hours to push mow my yard, so I should really have a riding mower. I'm grateful for the friendly return policy. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by The Greatest mower ever! ... until it died after only 2 months ... This mower was doing a stupendous job, but then suddenly died after about 2 months use. Seem like an electrical short or something. Was going to exchange it for the same model, but it is already discontinued. :-( June 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Buy EVER!!!!! A++++ This Lawn Mower is AWESOME!!! I just wanted to mow AND clean up autumn leaves-and this cheap machine did it all PERFECTLY!!! Dry Leaves, Wet Leaves, It doesn't matter!! This Wonderful Product: -Cleans Up frustrating Leaves-FAST -Mows lawn professionally -Very Inexpensive-Affordable! -Efficient (Saves you alot of time from all that monotonous raking) -Uses Electric Cord, which means no Smelly and Loud Gasoline engines OR batteries that just lasts about 30 min and die out at the end and has to be replaced yearly!!!$$$ Therefore, For a clean, time-saving, and money-saving job, get this machine for your household!!!!! It costs less than hiring someone to do your yard and it is also fun!!! It is a WIn-Win situation! Remember: Time=Money!!! October 28, 2010
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 2nd time using it I have a decent sized yard - it takes 2 hours to push mow, but it's a new house without landscaping yet. The mower works great. It starts up easy - no more pull starts! Just hold the button and and pull up the lever. I bagged the first mowing, and used the side discharge for the 2nd time. The mower responds like a regular gas mower. The cord is a minor inconvenience that I'm sure I'll get better with over time. It came with a battery but this model is corded. The next model up is battery op./cordless. The blade is not the best - probably just needs a good sharpening. It misses some spots - stray long blades of grass. It works for us, we're not going to get a different mower until this one dies. It's motivation to get the landscaping laid in. April 29, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This product has great value Recently used lawn mower for the first time and i loved it. The lawn mower was easy to put together out of the box. Once the mower was up and running it was quiet and light weight to use. The only thing was the mower did not come with the plastic oval clamp that holds the cord in place so the cord kept disconnecting cutting off the lawn mower. May 11, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BEST Electric Mower Made I bought this mower 6 years ago (for about $150 more than HD is charging now!) and have never been happier with a purchase! (I have the blade sharpened every other year; costs about $7 - 10.) Someone described this as the Humvee of electric mowers, and I agree. I've used other electrics, and they bog down in tall grass or thick thatch; they seem to hardly have energy to keep themselves running. Not this one. This year, due to my schedule and the rain, I wasn't able to mow my backyard until yesterday! The grass was almost to my knees, but taking it slowly, my little mower chewed right through it. I had to empty the bag five times (which is easy to do, by the way)! No gas to store in the garage. No noisy mower to annoy neighbors (I've even mowed by yard light a couple times with no complaints from my neighbors), no fumes to pollute the air. Not too huge so easy storage. Light enough for a woman to handle, but tough enough to please a guy (my brother used it once, and asked me for the details; he's sold!). Even my 83-year-old mom mows with it and can handle it. The only drawback is that it isn't self-propelled, so you need some push power of your own, but it's good exercise! June 16, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good mower, good price This is my first corded mower and I love it. My only problem is that without the bad attached and just using the mulching benefit, the grass gets backed up and stuck behind the mower. The grass isn't that high so it's not because the grass is high and can't get out. IDK maybe my wheels are too low. Other than that my mower is great. July 12, 2013
