I want to use the shredder along with a stove pellet maker to make stove pellets from my yard trimmings and the abundance of tumble weeds in our area. Does this machine make fine enough chips?

Answer:
About the same as the sawdust made by a chainsaw. Pretty fine - could be used for composting but not for mulch in my opinion - too fine for that.

Answer:
Likely not. They vary in size based on feed rate and diameter of the branch. I got chips approximately 1/32-1/64 thickness and 1/8-1/4 square from branches about 1" thick.
As far as I know, the rotary press machines commercially available use sawmill shavings. Good luck!

Answer:
The 2 in. 208 cc 2-in-1 Upright Chipper Shredder has a reduction ration of 10:1. This essentially means that if you have 10 bags of unshredded debris, the machine can chip/shred it down to the size of 1 bag of the same size.

Hello, and thank you for your question. This unit without fuel is 208 pounds . Becuase of the ergonomic structure of this unit, it is recommended to use a lawn tractor to move the unit. However, it is possible to move the units without the assistance of another machine.

Answer:
2" branch, but it can't have any side branches coming out of the branch or you won't be able to feed it in. It makes very small chips, just about the size of sawdust created by a chain saw. It could easily go into the soil as long as you don't put too much into the soil of course.

It will make tiny bits out of any material you put through it, but you will obviously not be able to use it as compost until you process it. You will highly reduce your branch to compost time with the machine, and you can SLOWLY put the shredded material back through the hopper the re-shred it repeatedly until it turns to powder. I say slowly because you want it to have plenty of room to bounce around in there and you don't want to just pump it right out the side of the machine. I take the bag right off of the machine and place it in my landscaping. Looks AWESOME.==Stewie Read Less

Answer:
Yes - you can pull it by hand. If you do, the only thing to watch is that your gas tank isn't too overfilled or else the gasoline will spill out as you tip it to move it.

Answer:
You need a lawn tractor. Trying to move it otherwise will be problematic. You tow it to location, then it sits on the wheels and a bar mounted to the front. The bar is fixed and is at a 45 degree angle and you have to take it off the tractor and stand it up to use it. The bar should pivot down, but it is fixed. Awesome unit.

Hello Don, thank you for your question. This unit comes with a toe bar with which it is moved from location to location. While being towed, it is important to NOT exceed a 15% grade in the slope of the hill.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 20 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great price on a solid machne My chipper arrived fully assembled, all I had to do was put air in the tires, oil (supplied) and gas in the engine, and attach the tow bar and it was ready for work. I've got six hours on the machine now and I've found it to be powerful enough to handle the Redbud, Oak, Poplar, and Pine branches and brush that I've been piling up all summer in anticipation of this purcahse. Twigs can conspire to clog the shredder chute, but I keep one sturdy stick handy to prod them into the whirling blades of destruction and all goes well again. It produces great mulch! Home Depot definately has the best price on this machine. Most others were $800 or above. October 16, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best I ever owned I've owned several chipper/shredders and this is by far the best of the lot. Lots of power. It gobbles leaves, wet or dry about as fast as you can feed them in. It is also very economical on fuel. I can run it about 6 hours on 2 tanks, which is a gallon and a half total. I sold my other chippers after using this one a few days. Great buy. December 29, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Worked Good When I Got It Purchased the unit 12/2015. Used it for an hour. Started 1st pull, & worked good. Pulled it out a couple of weeks ago, & it wouldn't start. Drained the gas out of the tank & carburetor, & still wouldn't start. Took it into the shop, & they said the carburetor was dirty. $60 bucks later I'm going to give it another try. August 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best shredder ever for the money Bought this machine the 25th of October this year (my fathers birtday) and it has been top notch since day one. After filling with oil and gas, and putting air in the tires. Engine started on first pull. Has started on first pull ever since. Makes fantastic mulch for the garden. Ground up all my leaves this year in less time than it takes to bag them. I have 3/4 of an acre and lots of trees. Home Depot has the best price I had found, most stores were $800 ~ $899 for the same machine (CS2210). My machine has the B&S 900 series engine and is more than enough power to shred or grind leaf & branches. If you like to garden. This is the machine to have! November 20, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product I was very skeptical with the Briggs engine 900 model being made in china but it starts easy , power seems adequate and so far so good. The true test will be in longivity of service. As others have said put only leaves in the top chute cause small twigs will clog it up. The bag attachment should be redesigned due to being a chore to remove and attach but it serves its purpose . It says a 10 to one reduction but you will be lucky to get 3 full bags of leaves to one so a lot of stopping and starting . If you keep in mind this is not a commercial unit and just take your time with it, and realize what you can and cannot do it does very well . I would certainly recommend it with two thumbs up December 30, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Depends on what you're doing This product is very well-constructed and is delivered very securely packaged. the main issue is that to chip actual branches (not twigs), all side branches must be completely removed or else the branch won't feed into the chipper feed input. So you have to manicure each and every branch before you can feed it in. It will certainly chip up a 2" branch, but you can't feed it in unless you cut off all side branches. I suppose that is because this thing has been lawyered over until it is basically idiot-proof as far as accidents are concerned (input feed is just about 2" wide). April 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent tool for the price A little tough in the beginning no user manual was shipped but customer support emailed me one. After filling with oil and gas the operation was simple. Three pulls of the recoil and I was shredding. The chute clogs whenever you are shredding green brush and leaves but is easy to clear. Shutdown operation would be easier and safer with a switch shut off instead of holding the throttle back. July 30, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does a great job Easy to start and use. It is a well built machine with a powerful motor February 25, 2014
