Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SnowBlower Just in time for Jan 2016 Blizzard
I had it off the purchase of a snow blower for years. With the threat of the blizzard hitting the east cost starting Friday Jan 22, I had to make the purchase. It was a bit pricey, but I can say that the time it took to clear 20-26 inches tall of snow was minimal I comparison to having to kill your back shoveling out. This was a great purchase. It was easy to use and I cleared my driveway and sidewalk in about 20 - 30 minutes. It was so easy, I had to help my neighbors out. I cleared about 4 neighbors on one tank and still had some to spare. I would deifinity recommend this blower for anyone who faces real snows.
I did not purchase any optional accessories, but I plan to get some chains. Other than that, everything was perfect. The electric start was great also as I haven't had to pull tens of times trying to get the machine to start, everything was perfect for my needs.

Picked it up yesterday at a local Cub Cadet dealer. They showed me the in's and out's of the machine and then assisted in loading it onto the trailer. Got it home and reviewed it some more and watched the weather forecast nonstop. We were due for just under 6" of snow. Perfect. The temp was around 29 degrees so the snow was a bit thick. I primed it three times, set the chock and decided to use the pull cord instead of the electric start. FIRST pull...varooom!! I was off to clean the driveway. I finished the driveway in no time flat. Wow does it throw the snow. Then I thought I'd be a nice neighbor and went next door. Did their driveway in no time flat. Then because the HOA is always slow to plow I thought I'd clean the street in front of the house. Found some left over ice chunks for previous storms...Ka-blooey!! This machine is awesome.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Barefootin Great Power and Options, Shoot Control Lacking
The 3X 26 we purchased performed well cutting through both 24-30" of loose powder as well as chewing its way through 4'+ of hard pack from the plows at the front of our driveway. With my wife behind the controls, she was clearing snow at almost a 2 to 1 ratio as compared to me and my older 7hp 2 stage. We have a large stone drive and we would have easily spent an additional 2 hours clearing snow without the 3x as it cleared the hard pack that I typically need to use our small compact tractor/loader for. Starting was always on the first pull (for me), although she cannot pull it fast enough to start it. Fuel consumption was very good on premium (93 octane) and comparable to my 7hp. That is the good, now for what could be improved... We did go through (2) shear pins, although I couldn't tell you why they failed as no objects were hit during the snow clearing. Our biggest complaint is with the lack of shoot control via the "joy stick". Well insulated gloved hands make trigger pulls difficult as there is no good "feed back" to the operator that you have successfully released the mechanism. Even when released there were times that the shoot did not want to move the opposite direction until moving it a little more in it's current direction. It was like it bound up during its constant "drifting" out of the position it was set in. Rotational "drifting" was not significant, but irritating. However, what was almost intolerable if relying on the "joy stick" was the discharge height. Regardless of the "friction" set on the wingnut, even light powder would move the adjustment to max creating a 40 foot rooster tail which was normally sent back into your face via the wind. After a few passes and having stones bouncing off of many unintended objects such as vehicles and the house or sending snow into the middle of the street we abandoned it and resorted to setting the height the old fashioned way and tightening the wing-nut down. When in hard pack, this was also insufficient to keep the discharge at the intended height. This is definitely a design flaw and NEEDS to be addressed if Cub wants to truly see this machine shine over others!!! Despite this design flaw, I will give it a 5 star rating as the 3X design is worth every penny we paid for the machine.... Would I have done anything different? Yes, I would have bought the 3X HD as it would fit in better with our Tank and Splitter :-)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by snowmojoman Bought just in time!
Purchased 3 stage as old small blower kept stalling biting into the banks. Purchased last fall, just in time for THE winter of the 21st century! It took the chunky frozen mess at the end of the driveway & chewed through it like butter. Trial under fire was successful beyond words. Didn't have the chute moving problems as I have seen posted.
Price was challenging, but it proved its worth & should last a long time to make it a great investment. As with any machine, maintenance is the key. Definitely recommend this machine!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JimsChristmasTools I'm really happy that I decided to purchase this
This Snow Thrower operates perfectly for what I needed. It is easy for all adults to operate young or old. Would definitely recommend to all people that are looking for a new Snow Blower.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by newbob437 Good snowthrower, but....
I recently purchased the 3X 26" snowthrower and have been very impressed with the reliability and power of this product. Certainly doesn't bog down when pushing through a mound of snow and starts reliably every time. However, I'm very disappointed in the 4-way / multi-directional pitch control chute. It never stays in the direction or angle you point it and tends to stray due to the pressure of snow being discharged through the chute. You can tighten down the overlarge wing nut to get it to stay, but then you can't change the angle unless you loosen again. I had read about this being a concern prior to my purchase and now I can see what they mean.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by mrhills3rd Awsome Machine
I bought this snow blower in November of 2014 so I've used it for one season. This is a great machine. I only have one minor complaint and that is that the chute always goes to the highest height because of the force of the snow. Other than that, I have no complaints. The controls were easy to get use to and the grip warmers are great. I made a path through my yard the other day so I could get to my shed to check on my Cub Cadet LTX 1050 riding mower that I bought new last spring. I only gave this blower a good rating like anything else I rate because I always believe there is room for improvement.
