I have the 526 SWE snow blower. Brand new fall of 2014. Got thru Dec & Jan and thought I would not get to use it. Now in Feb, snow has come. It has been wonderful. It starts easy. It performs great; cleans my 120' by 22' blacktop driveway down to the surface. It blows the snow 12'. It has cut my snow removal time by a third. Highly recommend.

First good snowstorm we received was New years eve 2013. I had been researching 2 stage snow throwers for a while and settled on the Cub Cadet 2X 526 SWE because of the features, price and Cub Cadet reputation. What a good decision I made! We easily got hit with 12 inches and this machine hammered through it like it was nothing at all. It took a few minutes to learn how to handle the 526 SWE because it has so many great features but it started up on the first pull and ran beautifully for the duration of the snow removal. I'm actually hoping we get a few more good snow storms so I can enjoy putting this monster snow thrower to good use. So, yeah, I strongly recommend this machine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MichaelC Plenty of snow throwing power
After experiencing frustration with my single stage snow blower, I decided to upgrade. Cub Cadet was my choice just as it has been for my lawn tractors. With the recent heavy snow, power was important to me. This thing is a beast! It moved snow that was higher than the auger housing! The power steering makes it easy to maneuver. The one hand control for the discharge chute is a little fiddly, but it may just need some adjustment. I just wish I had made this purchase much sooner.

Although I have only used it twice so far, the machine is top-notch...The lack of a fuel shut-off valve is the only negative I can lodge...It necessitates draining the tank during summer storage, obviating the need for gas stabilizer...Many carburetor float valves seep...During warm weather storage in the garage, fumes are emitted presenting a fire hazard...As I result, I have to drain the tank before storage...All gas powered equipment, including lawn mowers, should have a fuel shut-off valve...All of my previous mowers and snow blowers had a fuel shut-off valve...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by xpressgirl Lady Friendly, best blower on my street
Purchased Jan 2014 after looking at several throwers. I was looking for something that was lady friendly, moved snow, and was easy to operate. My neighbor struggles with hers, so power steering was a must. It arrived in 2 days and set up was painless. The directions were easy to follow and in English. Put the chute on and raised the handles. Then gas and oil. The pull start is easy, but I like electric start. Plugged in the extension cord and started instantly. I practiced the steering and auger control. Once you get your hands used to the controls, it is a blast. The joystick chute control is nice. Cranking the chute like the neighbor does looked like a hassle. We had 8 inches of snow last night. I had to use the higher gear on some spots and it worked great. You just know the plow truck came around and left a big pile by the mailbox. Gone in one pass. I also bought the Cub Cadet snow mat and I'm so glad I did!! Snow melts on the mat and no mess. This single mom loves this blower. Neighbors are jealous.

This machine cuts through deep, drifted snow like a hot knife through butter. It outperforms my previous Ariens in every aspect. This machine does the work without me having to push and pull it. I should have replaced the old Ariens a lot sooner! I don't know how I lived without the power steering before. The headlight actually works good in the dark! We've had record snows out here this winter and it hasn't clogged once and just goes right through what the road plows pushed into my drive. Worth every penny.

After shoveling My 10x50 driveway for the last 6 winters I finally broke down and decided to buy a snow thrower. After a lot of research online I decided on the Cub Cadet 526 SWE due to the features for the price. The head light, the power steering, and most importantly the 3 yr warranty. All others only had a 1 yr or 2 yr warranty but had to buy an extended warranty. I was able to do my driveway with 12 inches of snow in less than a half hour. Shoveling usually takes me several hours and a killer back ache. This unit handled the hard pack left by the county plow at the end of the driveway with ease. This was throwing the snow at least 25 ft with no problems. The joystick control for the chute is so easy to control the direction on the fly. no need to stop and crank the chute to the direction you want. And with the 40 mph wind this storm had is important!!

Finally, had our first big snow storm. What a difference the two stage snow thrower makes. From a female perspective, this machine is powerful and making turns takes some getting used to. My driveway is 150 feet long and this snow thrower has easily cut my time clearing snow by 75% and my frustration by 100%! I can't help clearing all my neighbors sidewalks because it is so much fun.
