Rated 2.3 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor recoil pull starter design and quality Purchased this item to April of 2013 to replace a six year old Craftsman 4 cycle trimmer that finally gave up the ghost. It would also accept the old Craftsman attachments. On second use the pull cord broke internally. The repair was $20 and the warranty doesn't cover pull starter problems. At the start of the 2014 season the starter internals failed again. I took it apart and "rewound" the recoil springs. This lasted two weeks until the one of the plastic tangs the starter engages broke. I am finally calling it quits and going to buy a Honda, Husqvarna or Craftsman 4 Cycle trimmer. It appears the Cub Cadet and Troy Bilt are the same product as the MTD trimmer. I would highly recommend you not waste your money on this product. April 12, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JUNK (ZERO STARS) DO NOT BUY. I have used this trimmer for a handful of times and like other reviews, have had nothing but problems. This will not stay running and is leaking oil. I purchased a Home Depot warranty on this as well, however when you buy the warranty they dont tell you its under the manufacturers warranty as well, it is completely contradicting. So when I had a problem with the trimmer Home Depot Warranty service sent me to Cub Cadet. This has been nothing but problems, do not buy this trimmer. July 3, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Quality Purchased in August 2013 and really liked the unit. In the spring of 2014, it was leaking oil around the eye glass. Disappointed that it will take 3 weeks to even know if it can be repaired or replaced. April 28, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I like the 4 cycle Bought this unit two years ago to replace my old 2 cycle ryobi which I had several attachments for. This unit is heavier than most I looked at, but it did seem to be made of sturdier material. The gas(ethanol) eat up the gas feed line(I thought I had emptied the tank.) The unit set up about a year. I recently replaced the gas line and it cranked right up. Hope it stays running. The price is Ok for a 30cc unit and it accepts the cheaper attachments which comes in handy. I would recommend the straight shaft. I cannot get used to a curved shaft and use my old ryobi straight shaft for weed eating with a Samauri(?) 3 string head from HD. July 3, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Complete waste of money I purchased this weed whip thinking the four stroke would be nice, not having to mix the gas. That is the only good thing about this product. It is heavy and very unbalanced. It doesn't have enough power to cut through anything outside of very light grass. I will be returning it tomorrow to get an echo. Also the line spool is beyond frustrating to fool with. September 10, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Quality Expected Purchased for the 4 cycle feature. Trying to eliminate hassle of mixing every gallon, separate gas can, etc. After 4 months of use on my half acre lot the head quit turning. Heard something snap and that was it. Took to a local warranty repair shop and they have a 4-5 week turn around. Now I have to purchase something to fill in. Would not recommend as they were not willing to ship me the whole trimmer attachment and me ship the broken one back (which would have been cheaper for them than paying the repair shop). Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by CC 330 Running issues and balance Just purchased this CC 330 trimmer. Followed the starting instructions to a T. After running it for over a minute a couple of different times, when turning off the choke completely, or putting the lever in position 3, the unit quits running. I replaced an older trimmer because of age and a similar issue. I bought the CC because of the name and it was a 4 cycle engine. What gives?? Weight wise it is also not well balanced. I did not think that I would be giving such a low rating to a product with the Cub Cadet name on it. May 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1/2 a Decade using this, FLAWLESS, PERFECT.. Yes, a couple repairs along the way, otherwise VERY MUCH WORTH THE MONEY. 1/2 a Decade using this, FLAWLESS, PERFECT.. Yes, a couple repairs along the way, otherwise VERY MUCH WORTH THE MONEY!... And... BTW, * interchangeable parts with lots of similar Ryobi models (maybe others too?). For instance, ran into carburetor issues with Cub Cadet after lots of usage, replaced carburetor from Dad's old Ryobi of similar make, and still running like a champ a couple /few years later. Love it... Recommended! September 18, 2014
