Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars even though it deserves it is because if you get into a corner you have to reverse and then go back to drive. There is no neutral and so help you -- you can't pull it or push unless you manhandle the badboy. Other than that is it truely awesome in every sense. Alot of power and pick the speed you want to go, this is perfect for my backyard.

This is a great mower for the cost. I have a very hilly property. Mower has more than enough power to climb straight up hills. Tough to hold back when going down hills. Trying to go parallel to the hills is tough due to my grade. I think for slight hills you will be fine. This mower is heavy and not the easiest to operate. I would not recommend for someone small. Starts up great each time with turn of key.
Biggest pro to this mower is time saver. I have 1/2 acre and it used to take me 2.5-3 hours to mow. Now I am done in under 1 hour. I would highly recommend this mower for someone looking to safe time and not spend a fortune.

I read some of the negative reviews about the drive belt coming off and bought the mower any how. My reasoning for this was I thought that if Cub was having a problem, surely they would have fixed it by now. NOPE! 30 minutes into the first use the drive belt came off and was shredded. I purchased a new gates belt and installed it myself. I now have approximately 8 hours of mowing in with no more problems. While reinstalling the new belt I noticed that the outside of 1 of the belt keepers had the paint rubbed off. I believe that my mower may have been shipped with the belt installed incorrectly. With this issue resolved I am happy with this mower

I have a half acre of grass on a hill. It took 2 hours to cut the lawn with my old mower (22" push). With my new Cub Cadet 33" walk-behind, I have been able to cut that time in half. I'm hoping to shave a little more time off as I get more and more familiar with it.
The multiple gears are great for different terrain and slopes and the reverse gear has saved me from ending up in a ditch a couple times already. This thing is a beast. I got the electric start thinking my wife could cut the lawn if I was ever unable to, but it's so heavy and powerful that I'm not sure if she'll be able to help.
For me, the cost is well worth the time savings I get. Mowing the lawn is almost fun with this machine.

This is without a doubt the worst piece of machinery I have ever purchased. I have 1/2 acre property that has been cut with a 21 toro self propelled model for 3 years. In an attempt to save myself time and effort in mowing the yard, I purchased this wide area mower.
The first attempt at using this Cub Cadet mower ended the drive belt coming off after less than half of the yard cut. After a week in the shop, the second attempt ended with less than a third of the yard cut before the drive belt came off again. Today, I will attempt to get my hard earned money back.........

Last season my Craftsman lawn tractor bit the bullet and it was time to shop for a new lawn mower/tractor. I looked at and tested over a dozen lawn tractors (new and used). My property is flat with about a total of 1 full acre. I have a above ground pool with a deck and a stone patio off the house and another deck off the house as well. So moving around in tight spots and making sharp turns is a must for my next mower. My ideal mower would be a zero turn walk or sit mower 40" or larger. My old tractor was 32" single blade cut. As you know prices are high for a zero turn in that size so that dream was shattered when I told the wife the cost. So after "goggling" wide area mowers I came across the Cub Cadet CC 760 ES. Read some reviews and watched a few videos on Youtube from other buyers. Decided to check it out in person. Went to my local Cadet dealer and tested it out. Two days later it was delivered at my door. What I like about it: Easy to use. Powerful engine. Engine noise not as loud as I thought it would be. Solid unit - not a lot of plastics and cheap metal. Good traction on the tires (good size) Two blade system. So easy to change speeds. Has reverse! Turn key start system!
My only "wish it was better" would be the bagging system. The arm that leads off the handle bar area is high up and when you are against a fence or bushes it can get caught or snagged on something. Maybe if they designed it lower... I did read a few reviews about the drive belt slipping off. That was a concern for me and after about 10 hours of use it did happen to me. It was fairly simple to slide the belt back on by taking off the cover and loosening a few bolts. No big deal.
It has now been about 2 months and about 10 hours of use and I am 99.99% happy with my purchase!

Bought a used one, 4-5 yrs ago. Live in Oregon and routinely cut heavy wet grass or weeds. I've had a little problem with the the blade belt jumping off so I just release the handle slower to disengage blades. Problem solved for me. Front end will lift if you squeeze drive lever quickly in 3-4th gears. Mower has 8 years of commercial use, still going. Looking forward to next week when my new one gets here...

It is definitely a powerful mower. Easy to operate. At speed 3 it moves at a good pace. Speed 1-2 are a bit slow. The deck cleaning is neat. You hook up the hose and turn it on, run the blade for a few minutes. It removes the excess grass.
Good for larger yards. i have 1/3 acre so that it was worth it. I don't have many obstacles either. Just a small pitch in the back yard but the mower makes it with ease.
I would recommend to those that like walk behind and want a wider cut. It is a little heavy to move and you need to slow down when making tight turns.
