Just put mine together and it must be an update to the older ones. Mine came in two sections for my 42 inch mower. The tubes sort of float between each other so you can raise and lower your deck without having to mess with the tubes. Works perfect! :)

The bagger is designed with a 3-piece section tube assembly. However, some models of attachments are limited to specific units. We recommend that you consult your Owners guide and verify the correct bagger is purchased. Thank you.

Answer:
Yes the tubing comes in three sections. There is a rubber strap that holds the two bottom pieces together. This can be released to clear clogs easily. The upper piece slides over the short section and stays in place by the gasking and the lid. I have had no problems with them not staying together.

Yes, mine came with 3 sections, and I finally used duct tape to keep it together, which makes it inconvient, when i need to take apart if the tubing gets clogged

The blades that come with the mower do a good job of mulching. I know with my cub cadet they do recommend the mulching blades which I will purchase when we do our fall cleanup. I hope that helps!

You can use them, but the bagger works much better when you use the 42" mulching blades as it cuts the glass much finer. You can purchase the blades at the Home Depot.

Yes, depends on the year of the tractor . I have the same tractor. Just FYI, you will need the extreme blades for the mower to push the clippings into the bagging system. Cub Cadet did not put a lot of thought into their bagging system prior to 2013. The 2013 version is better, but still needs some work. Shop around for the best price...

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Great !!! Follow these rules and you won't have any problems !!! When assembling for the first time spray the chute (( tube )) with silicone spray (( you can get this at any automotive store ))and reapply when cleaning or if you have problems !! 1. Don't cut grass when wet or to long !! If grass is to long GO SLOW or raise the blade height !! 2. Do not try at full speed you will have problems just take you time. Very easy to install took me about 15 minutes !! I live in Florida and have ST Augustine grass and it's tough and this works great even with the stock blades to. I did get the heavy duty blades and will change them out when the stock blades need sharpening. September 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 42inch XT1 bagger Upon reading reviews, negative reviews related to the feed tube leading to the bags clogging. My 1st useage resulted in this problem (I made sure the grass was dry before mowing) but he bags were really full and there was grass leakage around the deck. Subsequently I kept track of how bull the bags were by reaching back and feeling how full the bags were. The left bag fills 1st, then the second bag starts to fill. When I could feel that the right bag was full, I turned off the blades and went to dump the bags. No further incidence of feed tube clogging noted after this. When the bags get full then the mowed grass, leaves etc start to glog at the top of the tube on down to the deck if not emptied. The regular blades on the deck were more enough to ensure the grass/leaf clippings went into the baggers. Performance exceeded my expectations due to the few poor reviews I had read. But the problem was not the product, it was the user and proper emptying before the feed tube started to clog up. September 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I don't do reviews.... I don't usually write reviews, matter of fact this is my first one, but this bagger has made an incredible difference in my yard. I bought my Cub Cadet LTX1042KW two years ago. It did a good job but threw grass clippings everywhere. I upgraded to a mulching blade and mulch kit. This was better but I still had clumps of grass in my yard and grass all over my sidewalk and driveway after mowing. I kept reading reviews on this bagger and finally decided to give it a try. Purchased it on line because it was not in stock at my local store, and the price was the best I could find anywhere. Shipping and delivery was extremely fast, I had it at my front door in 3 days. The difference is incredible! After mowing my grass now looks like carpet and there is no mess on my sidewalk or driveway. I don't even need to get out my blower now. Yes it is a little pricey and I do have to empty it about 6 times for my 1/2 acre yard, but it saves time by not having to rake or use the blower, and my yard looks better than ever. Even my wife made the comment the last time I mowed, "That is the best purchase we have made this year!" June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So glad we purchased this mower with attachments. Cuts well easy turns and picks up very well wish we bought it sooner. October 18, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by After reading some of these ratings I guess the problem may be my yard? I was lucky enough to receive a cub cadet XT1 for my 50th birthday and so far its a great mower. Mine was delivered with the bagging attachment installed. I expected the bagging attachment to perform like the one on my old push mower but it does not. This one is far more delicate. If there is the slightest hint of morning due on the grass it will clog the tube and the bags will not fill. It is a real pain in the you know what to take this apart and push through the clog so eventually I quit using the bag. I love the mower but the bagging attachment only functions if you have a pristine manicured weed free and well drained professionally maintained yard to begin with. September 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bagger was easy to assemble and works great on my new 42" XT1. Gathers up the grass and leaves in both bags unlike some of the reviews which suggested otherwise. I did switch to a mulching blade but not sure if results would have been different. October 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Bagger It took me about 30 minutes to install this bagger and it works really well. The only issue is with the bags themselves...whatever material they are made of attracts rodents. Chipmunks love them for making their nests and will gnaw holes in them in no time. If the chipmunks like them, so will mice and rats. The manufacturer needs to look at a different material or treating the current material with a product that will repel rodents. Replacements bags are expensive. October 18, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very good product The bagger does its job and only took an hour to install. My only criticisms are that it is expensive and that bags (square shape) do not easily empty into the paper yard refuse bags (rectangles) that we all buy/use from places like home depot and warehouse clubs. I remedied the second issue but buying a couple extra trash cans for leaf and lawn refuse. October 18, 2016
