Answer:
I've found the sweeper is excellent for picking up pine needles although, depending on how much they are embedded into the grass it may take a couple of passes at different angles to pick up the majority of the needles. The brush doesn't seem to get loaded with needles during use.

Mine did. I had more pine needles than leaves in many loads. I did not even realize there were so mony needles under all those leaves and pine cones.

Answer:
No. I don't even use it while I am mowing, for 2 reasons. One, I don't have to worry about hampering my mobility such as if backing up. Second, it picks up clippings a lot better after they have dried in the sun for an hour or so. I only go where the excess clippings are. My mower is 42".

Interesting....Cub Cadet says the unit has bronze bushings and no gears. And yet on a subsequent question state the gears are metal. There is nothing metal in the wheels, gears or bushings.

Answer:
The wheels are plastic and have a plastic gear molded in. The gear on the wheel drives a plastic gear attached to the end of the shaft that drives the brushes.
The bushing that Cub Cadet states is bronze is not bronze. It is plastic as well.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 58 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Junk First season the brushes came lose and bent couldn't find parts found some for a different make. Made them work now the drive gear in the wheel is stripped. Still can't find parts. August 16, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by came bent up , with free shipping, maybe picking at store with an inspection would be a better idea The sweeper came bent up, it seemed that the box was opened then closed and resold to me. It would have been so much of a hassle to get a replacement I fixed it , in order to use it. Works nicely but time will tell how long it lasts, with Velcro tabs holding the bin together( some threads are coming undone already) I believe all the brands are just as cheaply made so this one is probably just as good as the others. I would have paid twice as much for a "Kirby" quality, rebuildable unit , but they are all just cheap "wear out and throw aways". August 12, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Life Saver As others have commented, the shipping box was damaged and there was pieces protruding thru the holes in the box. There was only 2 pieces of Styrofoam used to pack this thing in the box. There was some very minor damage (bent metal) which was ignorable. The instructions in a word "suck". You need to be able to look at drawings and interpret how to put this thing together. There is no text or written instructions. Any mistakes will not be obvious until you try to mate a part in a further step only to find out you did it wrong. The good news is - this thing is awesome What would have taken me 3 days of manual raking was accomplished in about 20 minutes. It is bulky but it is well worth every penny. I recommend this and I would buy it again. May 10, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Passed the first big test I ordered this product to arrive and be waiting for me when I returned from a week long vacation. Knowing spring in MI would bring extra long grass upon my return (from past experience), I did not want to rake my 1 acre lot again. After cutting the lawn and leaving a complete clipping mess across the yard, this cleaned it up with ease. Great product the first go around so far. The minor bad points, and they have nothing to do with performance, are like other reviews, it needs to be packed better. Mine arrived with a dent. I was also missing a small assembly component but was able to rig a temporary fix until I can get to the hardware store or order it from cub cadet. Performance so far...5 stars. Overall 4 star rating for the minor issues. May 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cub cadet Outstanding product. Worked better than advertised. May 31, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Slightly banged up but easy to assemble My lawn sweeper arrived and as I began to set it up, I noticed that the sweeper had been slightly damaged and was bent in several spots. I decided to go ahead and assemble as the damaged didn't seem to be substantial enough to affect the operation. It was very easy to assemble and everything worked as expected. I have used the sweeper for the past month and have noticed that the catcher is the only item that has shown any wear. Overall I would recommend this lawn sweeper. June 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cub cadet 44" sweeper Cleaned up the sticks and most of black walnuts in my yard with a couple passes, much better than hand raking. After doing a lot of research on sweepers, agrifab is supposed to be the best. The warranty card is for agrifab. I will happily pay a couple extra dollars for the sweeper color to match my cub tractor. April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the sweeper I'm no handyperson but it wasn't too hard to put together. Came to me with one little ding but I don't even remember now where it was. Works perfect. Picks up pretty good sticks most of the leaves (and I have ALOT) and is super easy to empty. Should have got it when I bought my house years ago. April 19, 2016
