I don't think I have ever been more disappointed in the performance of a product, especially one that costs over $500. The bagger clogs at the mower deck before I can even make one pass on my lawn. The first time I thought it was because the grass was slightly wet, but it doesn't matter. Same with leaves. Do not buy this product, you will spend more time manually unclogging the bagger than actually mowing.

I own a Cub Cadet LT-1050 50" garden tractor and I really take pride in a nice clean yard. I was using a lawn sweeper and decided to look into a bagger instead for ease of not having to pull something behind me in tighter areas. I read all of the reviews on Homedepot.com and decided that maybe the negatives were from people maybe not to sure on the proper way to use them like with long, wet, heavy clippings. Well, I gave it three tries and found that every time I emptied the bags I would have to unclog the chute where it attaches to the mower deck. It wasn't too difficult as I have long arms but for someone with shorter arms it would possibly be an issue. Also, for the amount of the bagger, I shouldn't have to take the chute apart every time the bags filled up. I also only filled up two of the three bags then emptied them so it wasn't like I packed the bags full causing the chute to pack tight. I called Cub Cadet support and they told me to just spray non-stick spray in the chute. If that is what it takes to use they should have packed a can or two in the packaging. I will say that the bagger did work very well while mowing the problem was only while emptying the bags.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by MowingNana Sadly I have to return the item!
I purchased this product on June 6, 2014. It was delivered in a timely fashion. We couldn't install it right away because of the rainy weather. Instructions and installation were about as expected. Not too difficult, but more time consuming than we planned.
After reading some of the reviews on-line, I waited to make sure the lawn was dry before using my triple bagger. Part of the lawn (one load full) went well. I emptied the bags with comparative ease. The second part of the lawn was a different story. There is an area that never used to be wet - but with all the rain we have had, the water table must be higher than usual. I cut the (not wet, but damp) grass in that area and realized that the shoot was clogged up. I dismantled it and cleaned it out and then moved on to a dry area. Even when mowing the dry area the shoot was still damp and it clogged up right away.
I tried to pace my mowing to completely dry areas and gave the triple-bagger ample time to prove itself. My husband even took it off and mowed the wet areas without the bagger. He mowed back over it when it was drier with the bagger attached to pick up the mess. Mowing twice just defeats the purpose of having a bagger.
It is with regret that we are returning the triple bagger to Home Depot. I'd like to think that someone who doesn't mow 4 acres - and has only very dry areas would have more success with your bagger. Until a newer bagger that is engineered differently comes on the market, we will continue to use the mower sans bagger.

It gets clogged after a few passes. I spend more time getting off the mower and cleaning the shoot.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by KarateDad Will clog under normal circumstances, and is unusable
I've had this bagger for a couple months on my 50" mower (which is great otherwise). But the bagger is almost unusable. It clogs under very normal circumstances. Yesterday evening I was trying to mow my front lawn, and it clogged 6 times within an hour (12,000 square feet). I hadn't water the lawn for 3 days, it hadn't rained either. It was 99 degrees the day before, and in the low 90's that day. I was only cutting 2" of grass at the worst. I experimented with doing full width passes, half width passes, going very slow, and it clogged every time. There are a couple sections where the grass is very thick and healthy, and I found it would clog in those sections every time. It starts to accumulate in the tube, and doesn't show on the grass until the tube backs up.
I also experimented by leaving the bags off, and just letting the grass fall to the ground, to see if it was a problem with airflow, and it STILL clogged.
Also, to be a bit nitpicky with an otherwise icky product:
if you are short like myself, and have the seat forward, the seat won't stay tilted up. So when you raise the bagger lid to remove the cut grass, the seat won't stay up, and it hits the bagger lid, slamming it back down on your hands.
Also, the whole attachment mechanism to the mower is a bit flaky, and if your field is bumpy, you may find it will fall off the pegs, and you will be dragging in on the ground behind you. I am going to add a couple threaded wingnuts to hold it in place one of these days.
On a personal note, I am replacing a John Deere mower, and I figured the bagger on this beast couldn't possibly be worse than the JD was. I was VERY wrong. I wish now I had returned both mower and bagger to HD when I had the chance. I love the mower, but without a good bagger, it makes it way less useful to me.
