The critical concern for me, was the star cluster center as I have star spindles; and didn't want to replace what I didn't need to. I used to operate "Highway Mowers" for NYS for several years, as well as a private construction company, which the owner has several properties... having owned / used several types / brands of mowers over the years, helps me offer an "Honest Opinion"
As pointed out I personally have used / had several brands of Lawn tractors over the years; and due to preventative maintenance efforts, I still have three in use currently for various reason's: spare mower, snow blade, drag behind mower deck / lawn sweeper in fall, de-thatcher / aerator in spring
Currently my Cub Cadet 50", which is starting it's 7th season of use, of which I started getting ready a few nights ago, will be used again at multiple locations; my lawn, the adjacent front lawn, road edge, and trailer it to other properties.....
Yes I find tree branches from wind etc, and debris from motorists in the 6 ft roadside buffer zone which I try to mow twice a month, each time done, does collect debris from cars.... but that's why you walk the area first, and then make a high pass initially, and lower the deck for the second pass.
I have no clue about the terrain's your mowing... maybe if you try raising the deck 1 setting higher, and look before mowing, and avoid intentionally mowing tree roots or rocks every other day like my neighbor does, your blades will last longer, providing a better looking finish cut as well... Maybe you should also consider having your blades sharpened and balanced professionally also... Please don't do as a reviewer commented in another post, and use 1 blade out of 3, replace all of them at same time, or deal with a messed up finish due to difference in blades from previous use & sharpening
The tractor itself in my opinion isn't cheap, as another reviewer claimed; It's durable, unlike some that are sold by other companies, currently on the market today. These blades might be from a chain store vs. "Dealer" , but it has been my experience that these blades are the real deal based on OEM stamping and packaging combined with the durability of OEM parts. End user's who maintain their units would know immediately if the blades were generic by weight, or as soon as things didn't react correctly.
I just bought another set to put on the shelf for in-case of situations, which I ran into last summer, where I some how broke a blade, having a spare set on shelf for "in-case" of readiness, was worth it, although delayed 40 mins., having spare blades on hand allowed me to finish the property that night. I'd like to share that this is the third set, bought from my local HD in NY #1266 over the years now.
Again, this is only my opinion, I'm pleased with my mower, blades and the efforts of my local store, to have what they can readily available, like batteries, "correct blades", belts, even tubes for tires.
My opinion is thumbs-up for HD's efforts, to help home owners...

Blades are lite-weight for application and size of tractor. This holds true thought out the tractor. The whole package is waste of money.
