Good Product so far. The advertised turning radius is way overstated, no where near 12 inches.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mikerockandroll Excellent mower. Lovin it!
So far I have ten hours on my machine and I love it. Cut is excellent. Lots of power. Deck lift and removal works easily. I have many trees and planters to go around and the power steering works great for this. Three family members have bought various cubs after trying mine. I would recommend buying from a dealer instead of box store as the tractor is setup properly. Only thing I don't like is deck wash port I remove the deck to clean and I put a graphite mower deck coating underneath and it barely gets dirty this way. Wish it had accessory plug for sprayer etc. but I installed my own. With regular maintainence and greasing I think this baby will last a long time.

We purchased a Cub Cadet about 4 years ago. It is a good think that we also purchased a extended warranty because we have had to have the mower repaired every year since we purchased it. We mow about 1.5 acres of flat land, which should not "stress" a well built lawn mower, however we have had nothing but trouble. We have replaced several belts and pulleys; we have had oil leaks and other engine malfunctions. It is not reliable and it is time to go. After we purchased the mower, we found out that if you wanted to get a good quality cub cadet, you needed to purchase a professional version. We will be purchasing a ZTR John Deere or Kubota.

We bought our LT-1050 in July of 2006. I have so completely abused that little mower on our 11 acres that there shouldn't be anything left of it. It keeps coming back for more year after year. It sits outside all year long, all seasons and is always ready for more. Sure it has needed a few batteries, tires etc. over 8 years but nothing terrible. The worst was when a mouse chewed through the coil wire (spark plug wire) and I had to replace the whole coil pack. Just keep the fuel fresh and this little Cub will give you more than your money's worth.

The Kholer engine is great. It never fails to start, and is very powerful. This riding mower cuts evenly and smoothly but only at slower speeds. If you go full speed or close to it, it misses grass and makes the lawn look terrible. The bagging system is pathetic. You have to go about 1 mph for it to not clog. And it does not seal completely to the deck. we had to replace the transmission at 350 hours. The gas tank is relatively small and that becomes a nuisance. The turning radius is not what it says on the brochure.

The Name Cub Cadet at one time was associated with a good quality Lawn and Garden Tractor. That was when International Harvester owned the name and company some 40 years ago. The Company sold off their lower homeowner lines and over the years, MTD (Michigan Tool and Die) bought the name Cub Cadet. They also own the Troy Built Line as well and others. Thus you will get various engines from Kohler no more L block cast iron engines. Some IC Briggs, and instead of a cast iron framed tractor you get a stamped metal pan that the motor and seat ride on. Cheap all the way around but what do you expect today from a company that owns just about every major name in lawn mowers and tractors readily available to the residential homeowner today. To find that tractor of some 40 years ago in a real Cub Cadet you would have to spend $12,000 to get that tractor.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mpenteco Excellent product. I have always preferred Cub Cadet.
The Lawn Tractor had a dead battery when it was delivered. It would not start even when charged. Took the battery to the local Home Depot in Burlington NC. They gave me a replacement, but it was not a new battery. It had to be charged in order to start. I took that battery to a local Hardware store and had to pay $60.00 to get a new battery. Very Disappointed with this issue!

I have replaced 2 starters. The first one after 3 years and now it needs another. It is only started about 4 times a month. I have to remove the belt covers on the deck to remove the grass clippings. If I dont then the belt will come off. My opinion? Kohler and Cub Cadet are nothing like the were 20 years ago. Next mower purchase will be from and authorized dealer and not from a big box store. I guess you get what you pay for.
