Yes, Bill, it has power steering. It also has leaky tires, leaky valve cover gasket to mention a couple issues, and I have only used it 20 hours since new.

On the specs. It lists that this can use ground engaging attachments. But in another question here a cub cadet person said that it doesn't accept ground engaging attachments. Which is it?

Don't know which ones they are referring to. I can pull a 48" lawn sweeper behind my LGTX 1054 mower. They call it a garden tractor, but there are not any garden tasks that I can do with my mower.
My old 18 hp Cub Cadet could and did run a 50" mower, a 38" garden rototiller, pull a 12" garden turning plow, handle a box blade and a set of cultivation discs from the 3-point hitch and electric power

The new LGTX 1054 mower is only a lawn tractor.

Answer:
Hello Stephen. The LGTX1054 54 in. 27 HP Twin Kohler Courage Hydrostatic Riding Mowers are not designed for use with any type of ground-engaging attachments (e.g. tiller or moldboard plow). Use of this type of equipment will void the tractor's warranty. A list of the acceptable attachments are located in the back of the owner's manual. Thank you for your question.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great Little Machine !! I have the 2011 SLTX 1054 , Which is the same as the 2013 1054.. I have read a lot of current reviews and I have to say that I have had Zero Problems with mine at all.. As a matter of fact.. in Sept 2011 mine had 22 hours on it and I pulled the battery out and put Sta Bill in the gas tank.. left it in the garage for 2 brutal North Dakota Winters. Today ( 5 / 4 / 13 ) was the first time it had been cranked since 2011...I charged the battery up and put it back in the mower , hit the choke and it turned over about 20 seconds and fired right up... Ran it for about an hour and it purrs like a kitten... I have had No Problems with my Cutting Deck or belts or pulleys.. May 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Need better documentation I have mowed 16.5 hours with this mower and of course had to adjust the mowing deck to get it to mow right. I bought a mulching kit and put it on yesterday. It took all day and the directions were terrible. They sent 3 bolts with the kit and no directions what they were for. The blocker that came with it came out half way thru my trial mow of half hour. You can't get the nuts off to put new blades on with normal equipment. I ended up with a spring and thick washer that I don't know where it came from. My last mower came with the mulching kit on it. The mower is great but without the mulching kit you have to rake grass and leaves. October 4, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WOW! What a machine! I have had this monster for six months now and it impresses me every time I start it up. It is great! The quality of construction is excellent, the 27 HP is a real smooth powerhouse and the machine is very comfortable. The 54 inch deck makes cutting my acre of grass a breeze and I really like the power steering. I ordered it from Home Depot on a Sunday and it was at my front door on Wednesday from the factory. That is fast service I find it to be the most bang for your buck. I installed a nice sun shade ordered from Sears for M T D tractors and it is a blessing here in the Florida Sun., September 18, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Such A waste This horrible lawn mower took up to much gas. the seat hurt my but.. When i tried to swap the engine it didnt let me put a v8 mustang engine...overrall.....ew. it didnt cut grass October 6, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A beast I bought my cub cadet in early spring of 2013. The LGTX1054 27 hp model. I have worked it hard. It now has 27 hours on it with zero problems period. It is a powerful machine. It is a very well built tractor. A true beast! The mowing deck is extra thick and the belt and pulleys are high quality. No problems cutting through high grass and the occasional stick. I like the fact the engine has cast iron cylinders sleeves for extra motor life. I love my yellow tractor! July 25, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Power but too much plastic Plenty of power, and easy to use, cuts great. I have about 3+ acres of yard and it has no problem with the steep hill nor any problems maintain a good speed through the grass. Only complaint is the body and hood feel cheap and the would prefer to have a switch to turn the lights off. Second one i have owned and last one lasted for 7 years and i sold for $1000 but had to repair the frame twice and used fiberglass repair kit on the hood latch. Engine ran great the whole time. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It's a nice machine that seems to be built well. The tractor has plenty of power and is easy to operate. The seat needs to be a bit more deluxe to absorb more of the bounce on rough ground. The mower deck is heavier than other brands in this class of tractor. As advertised, it has a very tight turning radius, but that feature is of little use on turf because when the front wheels are turned to the max the tire on the outside of the turning radius actually stops turning and is pushed sideways during the turn, gouging out an arc in the grass. The only way to stop the front wheel from tearing the grass during a turn is to NOT max the turn, left or right. If you are on a hard surface you can turn the tractor "on a dime," but on turf it will tear the grass every time. Maybe there is some way to adjust the steering to not allow it to turn so tightly. ??? March 29, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cub Cadet RAWKS!!! This is our second Cub Cadet, the tractor is SO much more powerful than our last, mom thinks she needs a seat belt to run it! October 17, 2014
