Product Overview

The Cub Cadet 46 in. 23 HP Kohler 7000 Series V-Twin OHV Zero-Turn Riding Mower features a steering wheel instead of lap bars which makes it easier to learn and use. The 46 in. cutting width helps mow large areas of grass while also reducing mowing time, and the heavy-duty 2-blade cutting deck is rust resistant for long-lasting use. The zero-turning radius offers efficiency and control when mowing, and the foot control lets you set your own pace. Even while mowing at different speeds, the dual hydrostatic transmission provides true zero-turn performance all while protecting your lawn and providing unparalleled stability. For added comfort, the simplicity of gas and brake pedals match the arrangement of a car’s control and movement. To go forward, press the gas pedal, and to go in reverse, simply push the reverse pedal that sits right next to the gas. With the Synchro Steer Technology, the steering wheel controls both the front wheels and the independently controlled back wheels for greater maneuverability, tracking, and stability on tough terrain and steep hills. Answer:
This is a requirement from Federal and State safety authorities as some serious accidents have occurred from backing up without looking behind you. It can be disconnected to mow in reverse, but do so at your own risk, especially if children may be in the area.

Answer:
The mow in reverse feature is new for the current model # 17ARCBDT056 and the ignition key should look like the picture I've added. All previous models did not have this option. However, with this being a zero-turn, the need for mowing in reverse should hopefully not be required that often.
Hope this helps

The key is to take it slow until you are comfortable but after my second mow I was going full speed mowing the ditch sideways (not recommended by most) with zero worries. It will pull a tire off the ground when making fast turns up the slope but that is to be expected but it was never tippy. The thing I believe helps with this is how low this mower is compared to your standard lawn tractor. Read Less

Hello, and thank you for your question. These units are approved for use on a slope no greater than a 15 degree gradiant, and should never be used in conditions exceeding these guidelines. The operator risk injury and damage to the unit if operation of the unit occurs beyond these limits.
Thank you.

Answer:
According to the manual as long as the weight is not excessive those items can be towed. I plan on towing a cyclone rake this fall. Just be careful when you make sharp turns.

Answer:
Thank you for the question. As a rule of thumb, the unit can tow about half the weight of the unit, plus the weight of the rider. Generally, that means you can tow around 200-300 lbs depending on the units engine size and transmission.

RZT S 46 in. 23 HP V-Twin Dual Hydrostatic Gas Zero-Turn Riding Mower with Steering Wheel Control is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Machine I have had a few different mowers from top MFG's and this one is by far my favorite. I was a bit nervous because I have a hilly lawn with some fairly steep banks around the pond and ditch. I am here to tell you this thing is stable, you may see one wheel come off the ground while turning on a steep slope but as I quickly learned there is nothing to worry about. It is a great design, I love not having to use two hands for a zero turn. You can mow at top speed and it cuts great!!! You can add the hitch so you can add attachments which other zero turns do not offer. It has power for days. It is a thicker gauge steel than other top brands which is nice, I don't worry about hurting the unit, the deck bending if I bump something, etc. All around I think this is the best residential mower out there. I am here to promise you this will not disappoint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mower I owned a Toro zero turn mower for 11 years now and did alot of checking before going to buy a new zero turn. I was not interested in the cub zero turn with the steering wheel untill I showed up at the dealer and he showed me how it turned without draging one of the wheels like my other zero turn. This mower has 4 wheel steering and cuts better on hills also. I noticed someone made the comment that you can't cut in reverse without stopping and engaging the PTO again. They must have fixed that problem for the 2014 models, because mine has a position for the key so you can cut in forward and reverse without stopping and engaging the PTO again. No regrets and also gives a much better groomed cut than my other mower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Value Product I am a retiree dealing with a hill (20-30 degree) in my back, my area is about 3/4 acre. I use to have a lawn tractor, but felt very uncomfortable on the hill, not to mention the mower wouldn't climb some of it, so I have mowed by hand for the past few years. I studied for a while, wanting something that could deal with the hill and that I could feel safe on, and less than $ 3500. This product seemed to be the answer, and after using it for a couple months I am convinced. Very stable on the hill, side to side or up and down. The literature says not more than a 15 degree grade, this product can handle that easily. Nice cut, I got the mulch kit, which works well. Over all, I think this is a very good value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only Nit-Picky Complaints, Otherwise Great I researched this mower quite a bit before buying it 25 days ago. I've put it through the ringer testing it out before the 30 day return window elapses. I've been quite pleased so far. Some high points and low points. Good Great traction and hill climbing. I thought i'd get stuck several times in my hilly property, but the mower climbed right out. If a wheel spins, a turn of the wheel will change traction to crawl out fine. Motor starts fine and has ample power for knee high grass. Cuts smoothly and throws clippings far, even in wet grass. Wash feature is nice Tight controls steering and on pedals. Not so Good PTO cutout on reverse is a pain, but i just unplugged the switch to bypass that feature. In first hour cutting it blew smoke and lost power (as described in prior review) but i haven't been able to recreate the conditions since. Slightly loose handle on throttle lever, but not a problem. LED caution lights on switch panel do notline up with sticker, so lights are hidden. All around, i've found this mower to be a good purchase. I used to bemoan cutting the grass and now it is a pleasure. Thanks Cub Cadet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Zero Turn Love It!!! Great mower my lawn looks better than ever. Cuts like a dream! Cut my mowing time down from about 11/2 hours to about 30 min. Took this mower to my sisters yard that usually take around 40 minutes to cut with my old tractor style mower. Mowed her yard in about 10 minutes. Love it should have bought one a long time ago. Now I really look forward to cutting grass again. Thanks Cub Cadet!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazed I did a lot of looking and thinking before I bought this mower. And I must say that I am totally amazed at the way this mower handles and cuts. I went from a John Deer to this mower. I loved my John Deer but I will probably never go back to the Deer. My yard looks so much better than it ever did. My mowing time went from an hour and 15 minutes to about 40 minutes. I use to really dread mowing time, but now I can't wait for the grass to grow.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love hate relationship First and foremost the handling of this mower is great. Cub has got something here with the steering wheel zero turn. Stability on hills is great, low center of gravity is a bonus as well as I am not making anymore zero turn divits. I bought this mower to replace a 10 year old zero turn Gravely. The gravely would climb a hill and not argue. However it was a 3 blade mower and the deck would have to be cleaned at least a couple of times per mowing session The Cub Cadet Deck has never clogged up even in wet grass. In all fairness I cut 2 yards my moms and my mothers which is 5 acres total in 2 days, sometimes on the same day. I got home with my new Cub and mowed the first time and fell in love with it until I climbed a 45 degree hill, it started to blow oil smoke out the exhaust. I later learned it was a Kohler problem with a gasket left out of the engine. Then the mower started frying clutches with only 11 to 20 hours of service on the mower. After a total of 3 clutches and numerous trips to the dealer Cub finally warranted the mower . I mowed the rest of that season and the next with minimal problems. Now I am in the next season and my cub just has troubles climbing hills, you have to back off the pedal and let the hydros develop pressure to go on. Also the drive belt will slip off occasionally and you have to loosen the slip gard to coax the belt back on. Bottom line, I love this mower and hate this mower. I would expect better performance from something that costs this much. Lastly it is difficult to replace belts on this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes mowing grass a pleasure!!!!!!!! Have mowed the lawn twice already 1 1/3 acre (half a slight slope to a lake) and I had no fear going down the slope into the water. It held it self as if it was a car in first gear going down. I LOVE the steering wheel instead of the lap bars. I feel I have more control of the machine. The oil is easy to change I noticed the reviews had said it was difficult but they must have improved it by way of a oil change tube. The new reverse feature with the blades running takes time to get use to but works great. The 23 horse power v-twin has more than enough power to carry a full size man easily up a hill without any problem. The assembly was very easy, the hardest part was uncrating the wood structure from the machine. Would highly recommend this machine.
