Product Overview

The Cub Cadet 46 in. 23 HP Kohler 7000 Series V-Twin OHV Zero-Turn Riding Mower features a steering wheel instead of lap bars which makes it easier to learn and use. The 46 in. cutting width helps mow large areas of grass while also reducing mowing time, and the heavy-duty 2-blade cutting deck is rust resistant for long-lasting use. The zero-turning radius offers efficiency and control when mowing, and the foot control lets you set your own pace. Even while mowing at different speeds, the dual hydrostatic transmission provides true zero-turn performance all while protecting your lawn and providing unparalleled stability. For added comfort, the simplicity of gas and brake pedals match the arrangement of a car’s control and movement. To go forward, press the gas pedal, and to go in reverse, simply push the reverse pedal that sits right next to the gas. With the Synchro Steer Technology, the steering wheel controls both the front wheels and the independently controlled back wheels for greater maneuverability, tracking, and stability on tough terrain and steep hills. Assembly required, certified professional delivery recommended during checkout.

Answer:
This is a requirement from Federal and State safety authorities as some serious accidents have occurred from backing up without looking behind you. It can be disconnected to mow in reverse, but do so at your own risk, especially if children may be in the area.

Answer:
The mow in reverse feature is new for the current model # 17ARCBDT056 and the ignition key should look like the picture I've added. All previous models did not have this option. However, with this being a zero-turn, the need for mowing in reverse should hopefully not be required that often.
Hope this helps

My neighbor and I both have this mower and we have equally tricky terrain with a pond with steep banks and a fairly steep ditch to mow and it does great. The key is to take it slow until you are comfortable but after my second mow I was going full speed mowing the ditch sideways (not recommended by most) with zero worries. It will pull a tire off the ground when making fast turns up the slope but that is to be expected but it was never tippy. The thing I believe helps with this is how low this mower is compared to your standard lawn tractor. Read Less

Answer:
Hello, and thank you for your question. These units are approved for use on a slope no greater than a 15 degree gradiant, and should never be used in conditions exceeding these guidelines. The operator risk injury and damage to the unit if operation of the unit occurs beyond these limits.
Thank you.

Answer:
According to the manual as long as the weight is not excessive those items can be towed. I plan on towing a cyclone rake this fall. Just be careful when you make sharp turns.

Answer:
Thank you for the question. As a rule of thumb, the unit can tow about half the weight of the unit, plus the weight of the rider. Generally, that means you can tow around 200-300 lbs depending on the units engine size and transmission.
For additional information please contact your local Home Depot.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really Glad I Bought It This mower has done everything I expected and more. I mow 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 acres once or twice a week and do the job in 2/3 of the time - saving 1/3 of the time and 1/3 of the fuel, and compared with lawn tractor steering, a lot less effort. This has definitely proven to be the right mower for my needs. October 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Mower Made I love the Cub Cadet zero turn mower because it does a beautiful job. The zero turn mower with steering wheel is one of the best designs that I have ever used. I would highly recommend this mower to anyone that has an acre yard or larger. This mower has all the power, speed, and the cutting ability that anyone could want or need. There are two things in my garage that I love, they are my 2004 Corvette and my 2015 Cub Cadet. October 6, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great new technology The RZTS 46 replaces my cubcadet 1440 tractor that was purchaced new in 1993.Because it has been a good machine, but is getting a little tired after 22 years ,my wife and I decided to get some new technology. Hence the RZT S 46 zero turn mower.I could have gone to the big box store and saved a few dollars, but decided instead to go to the locally owned Cub Cabet dealer that has helped me over the years to keep my 1440 running.......His price was reasonable and he has trained service personal. Its also good to know that if anything goes wrong with the new mower he'll be there to fix it. The RZT S 46 is a great machine and does a very professional cut on the lawn which is quit hilly. It does however take a little getting use to even with steering whell instead of the lap bars and in the long run cuts my mowing time down from a little over 2 hours to just under 1 hour I would recommend the Cub Cadet RZTS 46 to anyone who wants quality, technology and reliability and of course a little fun in their wowing experience.... Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by love it love how it cuts, love all the power, reconmen\\\\ love how it cuts, cuts my mowing time by 30 minutes, plenty of power. September 1, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by GARBAGE with no support Bought this mower in September 0f 2014. First of all it arrived damaged, so Home Depot gave me a $250 credit since I have no way to transport back to the store. After 7 months of use I have had the bolts vibrate off, mowing deck fall to the floor, and the battery fail. The only way to get anything repaired is to pay $100 for their authorized service center come pick it up and look it over in their shop. Let's not forget to mention the delivery process. They left the mower, bolted and crated, in the street, in the pouring rain. The driver stated, "I am not required to bring it down the driveway or unpack it, that's your job." Between Home Depot and MTD (Cub Cadet) this is a losing combination. Do yourself a favor, buy something else... and from someone else. June 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it great mower - love the steering wheel instead of the lap bars... Mows great and the zero turn is awesome!!! July 12, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worked well - ONCE I ordered this from homedepot.com. It was "dropped" at my doorstep in a crate that is as large as my bathroom. After getting 2 folks to help uncrate it and assemble, we were off and running. The lawn mowed great - ONE TIME. After that we were unable to start it. Called for warranty assistance and we were told in order to have it repaired we had to take it in to the nearest repair place, 20 miles away. This mower is extremely large and that did not work for us as we would have had to rent a trailer. The second option was to spend $130 to have someone come to the house. Not an option for us. We returned the mower and had HD come and get it. June 11, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by High Value Product I am a retiree dealing with a hill (20-30 degree) in my back, my area is about 3/4 acre. I use to have a lawn tractor, but felt very uncomfortable on the hill, not to mention the mower wouldn't climb some of it, so I have mowed by hand for the past few years. I studied for a while, wanting something that could deal with the hill and that I could feel safe on, and less than $ 3500. This product seemed to be the answer, and after using it for a couple months I am convinced. Very stable on the hill, side to side or up and down. The literature says not more than a 15 degree grade, this product can handle that easily. Nice cut, I got the mulch kit, which works well. Over all, I think this is a very good value. October 7, 2014
