Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Don't' know why I waited this long! I decided to give my 2001 Lawn Boy to my daughter and purchase a new self-propelled. While I was very satisfied with my Lawn Boy I had know idea how much better this Cub Cadet could be. It was extremely easy to unpack and setup - adjust the handle, fill with oil and gas and start - that's it! It has larger wheels which facilitate a more even cut. I purchased two (2) extreme mulching blades, which I would highly recommend. And the variable speed is nothing short of awesome. I cut my mowing time down from 1 hour 20 minutes to just under an hour and it uses less fuel to boot! And I should also mention that their Customer Service is also excellent. July 17, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best I've ever owned I purchased this mower at the end of July 2014 and have used it several times over the past month. The mower is great. So easy to use on my front yard which is a slope. It may take some a few uses to get used to the self propel bar, its a push bar not a pull like many other mowers. Starts on first pull, easy to assemble (side note: assembly instructions talk about using cable clips to hold the drive and clutch cables to handle poles, these have been replaced with zip ties, I had to call Cub Cadet to confirm this after searching and searching for the clips). The rear wheels are a huge advantage to this mower, really easy to turn and really help on the uneven ground in my yard (several tree roots and some holes). I upgraded to this mower from an older Honda zero turn self propelled model, zero turn are not great on hills. This was definitely a great purchase. September 1, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great machine Mower arrived within the specified timeframe, and was very easy to assemble. It started with the first pull out of the box (AFTER adding oil and gasoline!). The self propulsion is outstanding - matches any speed I want to go and pulls very well over all sorts of terrain. The unit is very light and easy to handle as well - especially compared to my old Craftsman. I would highly recommend this machine over a comparable Toro or Lawnboy, and is a better value for the money than the comparable Honda. April 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great mower! this mower started on first pull out of the box and first time ever since. It mows with great power and mulches well. the height adjustment is easy to use and the mower is easy to push. I plan to keep the oil changed and use it for years to come. I mow 2/3 acres with ease. Cub has a winner here! April 7, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Has a defect Mower runs great. Easy to start. One problem with rear wheel drive is it's hard to maneuver around shrubs and plants when you want to push the mower in and then pull it back. Problem with my mower is when I reach the end of the space to be mowed and try to turn it by raising the front wheels and turning it on the rear wheels the height adjustment on the rear wheels slips and drops to the low setting. This causes the rear of the mower to scalp my lawn. Any pressure down on the handle causes the adjustment to slip to the low setting. I have to reset this adjustment each time I change direction. Takes forever to mow a small yard. Would like to return it. Used twice. August 27, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't buy Cub Cadet Lawn Mower I have a self propelled Cub Cadet that I have had now for several years and it has been a lemon from the very beginning. The week I bought this mower I had to take it back to Home Depot and have it repaired at a cost to me of over $100 and that was for the self propelled part. That was the first indication it was not going to be worth the money I paid for this mower. Since then the self propelled portion of the mower has been nothing but problems. I jury rigged the cable for a while then I ordered a new cable and replaced it myself. It is still a problem and will continue to be a problem. I am done spending time and money on a poor quality machine. Next lawn mower will be a Honda which has all of the highest ratings to which Cub Cadet never gets into the ratings. Is there a reason or is it so far down the list that there is no need to bother. April 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by waiting to test it out, but it's still snowing up here easy to use and came almost set up ready to use. I went and picked it up at store when it came in. April 21, 2015
