The ice cream doesn't get very solid. It'll have the texture of partially melted ice cream so you would have to put it in the freezer afterwards

No salt or ice. you will have to freeze the removable bowl for 13-16 hours, and that gets cool enough to form ice cream.

The Cuisinart Automatic Frozen Yogurt-Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker is an excellent product. It is a Must-Have for ice cream or frozen yogurt lovers. With this ice cream maker you can modify recipes to make low-calorie , low-fat, or no-sugar deserts. It produces both ice cream and yogurt that is equivalent to what you would find in a store or restaurant. All this in 30 minutes.

I have owned another ice cream maker but this one really out does it in texture and freezing also it's a lot quieter. I will probably never buy ice cream again.

I bought this because I am diabetic and needed more than just sugar free vanilla ice cream. I wanted also a sugar free sherbet. This product allows me to make whatever flavor I want. I found that following the recipes in the book that comes with it does not work well using a sugar substitute, so some recipes need to be modified a little. After making slight modifications the ice cream is great. Still working to adjust the recipes for some flavors though. That turns out to be some of the fun of it, I get to experiment a little.

We are very happy with this ice cream maker. Easy - no messing with ice. Just put the container in the freezer and pull it out when you are ready to make ice cream. It is a little noisy but you can always put it in a different room. Works wonderful and makes real good ice cream. We have tried others and we feel this is the best on the market.

Easy to use. Love that you don't have to use ice and salt for it to work. Just keep the canister in the freezer so it's always ready. Don't care much for the recipes that came in the user manual but there are plenty of other recipes on the internet to choose from :) I use Splenda instead of sugar. So happy with this purchase!

Have made both the simple vanilla & chocolate and was shocked at how easy and great tasting both were. My husband did a side by side test of the vanilla against his vanilla Haagen-Dazs and could not tell the difference. Had all the basic ingredients needed (sugar, milk & vanilla extract) on hand except for fresh heavy cream. The cost per quart is less than half compared to Haagen-Dazs. Thinking about buying a couple more for gifts. Don't hesitate, buy it!
